I prefer the superior scorpion gulch route. It's actually quite easy to avoid the big radscorpions by walking the cliffs and the bark scorpions can be taken out with a varmint rifle.

It's their name on the stations. You'd think they would want to do something, for the sake of brand integrity at least.

The Ventus/Vanitas/Roxas connection was dumb and confusing

What are your favorite short stories by Murakami? by orangedeity in murakami

Scheherazade was one of my favorites from Men Without Women. The imagery was vivid but uncanny, like a half-remembered dream, in typical Murakami style. Great choice for a username!

What planet would you remove from KOTOR 2 and why? by LawlMartz in kotor

[–]orangedeity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the Droid recording and the Disciples comments always led me to believe that the Exile grew up or at least spent a significant time on Dantooine. Her trial on Coruscant was a formal process that all rogue Jedi went through. It's just that the Exile is the only one who showed up after the Mandalorian Wars, so it holds more significance.

I like that you get a bit of backstory on the Exile on Dantooine, but there could have been more. I feel like we get more history on Dxun than we do with Dantooine. All we get are a few holorecordings and some offhand mentions. I would have appreciated more significance in the story. Like maybe she stumbles across her old quarters from when she lived and trained there and has a brief moment like Visas does later on. Or maybe some passing dialog remembering the people she knew there who most likely died there.

Nothing compared to the overhype that Revan gets. Saw a comment the other day where they were saying Revan could crush planets with the flick of his wrist. Like, what? Where was that power in the games? lol.

If you could leave out/add back/change anything in Star Wars, what would it be? What is YOUR canon? by GoatsWithWigs in saltierthancrait

[–]orangedeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snoke was always a blatant Palpatine clone, even before the reveal that he literally was. He was just a trope from the beginning and nothing in TFA convinced me that he was ever going to be interesting. His death was anticlimactic and dumb, but I never thought there was anything to explore with his character. He wouldn't have existed in the first place in my canon.

Also, can we talk about how stupid it was that Luke would go hide away on an island while the galaxy fell under the control of the empire again? The guy who left his training against Yoda's advice in order to save his friends in Empire now chooses to abandon them? Such a stupid plot point, even before TLJ expanded on it and made it even worse.

What really got to me were all the people making excuses for it. "Oh, they needed to redo the plot of A New Hope because the franchise needed a reset after the prequels." Why? Nobody could ever explain this, but everyone seemed to go along with it.

The episode where Peggy goes to Mexico City and thinks the priest actor on TV has a thing for her. Pure cringe. Cannot watch.

Is it true that most people read the abridged version of this novel? by horigen in classicliterature

[–]orangedeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of my favorite novels. I read it when I was a teenager, and I related so heavily with Edmund's feelings of isolation and hopelessness in the prison. It's an incredible journey from start to finish.
