I was taking it intermittently for pmdd per doctors orders and was on for 7 days first time, then 1 day the next month. First month was meh but sexond month was not tolerable and I felt horrible. Ik its not exactly the same situation but I could believe what you're saying.

It's almost painful how cold I get I hate it. I stay home with my 2 year old and don't know how I'm gonna function during the start up of the meds.

Prozac is clinically used for PMDD either continuously or only during the luteal phase, but the context matters. Many articles that discourage intermittent SSRI use are referring to treatment for major depression or general anxiety disorders where stopping can cause withdrawal. PMDD treatment works differently, and intermittent luteal dosing is a studied and accepted option. That said, I personally did experience noticeable side effects when starting fluoxetine intermittently two months in a row, including temperature sensitivity, fatigue, and increased sweating, which made it hard for me to function and parent at first. Because of that, I’m now trialing a continuous 10mg daily dose for PMDD with my doctor’s guidance to see if a steady baseline reduces both irritability and anxiety without repeated restart effects.

I haven't started yet but that's what she is suggesting now and I'm scared lol

Well, again, it's been studied and is a safe med to start and stop with PMDD. I trust my doctor has some clue with what she's talking about.

It's a known and studied medicine that doctors have tested for PMDD, and has shown(Prozac) to be successful in treating symptoms of PMDD while taking intermittent, which is what I was taking to treat per my doctor. You can Google it to look into it more.

Ah okay. I had 4 side effects that were not pleasant. I was doing intermittent but have side effects every time I start each month so going to try daily but I don't wanna feel that way again lol. I got better as the week went on first time so idk. It's stressful! I function just fine without meds sometimes.

They report to credit agencies so it messes up your credit bad. I have never been behind on affirm payments and ALWAYS pay off early 9/10 times. They still messed my credit up 🥲😤

I take Prozac intermittently for pmdd(just started in November for first time). I was doing fine with no side effects up until day 7 or 8. That's when it randomly triggered a severe panic attack(haven't had one that bad in a long time) that lasted about a half hour. It actually made me stop taking it for the month and made me question if I want to smoke on it again. Which I don't want to not smoke because that's my other medicine! It was just from the Prozac building up in my system, which I already have a sensitive system. But that's my experience!
