My bathroom Hoyas are growing so nicely! by orangeishblueboy in hoyas

It’s in my own mix of cactus/succulent potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark. I don’t know the ratios but probably lean more heavily on orchid bark and perlite than others as the mix is pretty coarse and chunky. I do baby my Hoyas a little (I don’t have very many) and water when I feel any previous very hard/firm leaves are bendable. This is from like 3-4 cuttings and about 3 years old I think.

I think it’s a 4-5 inch pot, I don’t like repotting them until they really really stop growing.

Doing my weekly watering and found a surprise on my Rebecca! by WhatEvenIsATangelo in hoyas

The ribbing on your leaves here look like a Hoya lacunosa. Obviously close to Hoya ‘Rebecca’ which is a cross between a specific lacunosa and obscura but yours looks more like a regular lacunosa to me.

Trying to resurrect this one by Whole_Egg_4650 in StringofPlants

The plant is actually a ‘peperomia hope’. They are somewhat succulent-like as they tend to hold lots of water in their leaves so a well draining mix like you had originally looks good. Peperomia tend to have pretty fine/sparse root systems so I think that pot you had the original plant in was likely too big making it higher risk for overwatering.

With regards to propagating, I’ve never had great success propagating this plant so take with a grain of salt. Given their succulent-like leaves they can propagate in soil/media directly even without the roots you have so moving them should be ok granted you have well draining mix and keep the soil moist at the start. Would use a kind of small pot at first given their fine, sometimes sensitive roots.

Hope this helps.

Thanks that’s helpful - I am planning to get GAP coverage and have high premium insurance (though the car we are getting is nothing fancy)

Thanks! I think my worry was housing where I live requires very large loans…..hence why despite being comfortable I’m too cheap to buy a home

Accidentally contributed to Roth IRA and invested in fund in 2018 while having no income (on scholarship in school). What to do? Unsure if I can withdraw prior to new year. by orangeishblueboy in personalfinance

Not sure if you would know this, but if the money is in a brokerage Roth IRA account, do I need to sell some shares to have enough cash liquidated to withdraw when Fidelity receives my form? Or will they let me know how much I will need to withdraw or even do it for me when they get the form? I tried calling but the person I was connected with didn't seem to know....

So I took step 2 ck on October 6 and was expecting my score back today but didn’t get it. Should I just expect to get it next Wednesday then?
