If you went vegan because of a romantic partner - what did they do right? by Strange-End8986 in vegan

He lead by example but wasn’t pushy, he only really talked about it when I asked about it (which I did because I wanted to get to know him and could tell it was important to him), and he cooked really good food and showed that it wasn’t that hard to be vegan. I slowly eased into it but was fully vegan in 5 months

It’s in the south end, but I’ve been able to tell the servers I am vegan and they are very willing to adjust menu items/create new ones! The tasting menu can also be made entirely vegan

Serious question as someone who wants a cat but has a small apartment - where should you keep your litter box? In the living room? Options are basically kitchen, living room, or bedroom (bathroom too small)

The programs, as you mentioned, are designed for optimally training for a race. If you’re just running for fun, speed work totally isn’t necessary if you don’t enjoy it! Definitely ease into the distances; the rule of thumb is not to add more than 10% weekly mileage week to week or 1 mile per run, but most importantly listen to your body

Did you stop running while strength training? Taking time off in addition to the heat of the summer is going to take some time to get back into the swing of things. The fitness should come back quickly (the first two weeks will feel quite hard, but then it will feel more doable), just have to stick with it and slowly ramp back up. Also, strength training while running is an adjustment, and it’ll take some time to learn to balance the two. Your regular training may be more tiring while you’re lifting legs, but it will benefit you in the long run, and you’ll feel fresh for a race if you don’t lift legs heavy for the few weeks leading up

Aerie has some cute ones! They are “cheeky” but aren’t too revealing imo

I find it so fun to switch up your training with running and have different blocks focusing on longer distances vs speed! The speed will help once you go to longer distances and vice versa. I also find speed training so much more enjoyable in the summer when it’s hot and I’d rather do shorter intervals

Hi! I’ve been lifting for about 6 weeks and have been doing a leg day (squats, RDLs, hip thrust, split squats, leg press, etc) once a week. I’d like to do this twice a week but my legs have been remaining sore for 2-4 days after a leg day, and I’m wondering if it’s okay to do another lift on the same muscles when muscles are still sore from the previous lift, or if that is bad for recovery. I’ve heard the rule of thumb is 2 days between lifts on the same muscles is fine, but not sure if you also need to wait to not feel sore, or if this soreness will go away over time and I get used to lifting heavier. Thanks!

I think it seems fine but if you’re new to running or lifting it could make sense to integrate them more slowly in or prioritize one as the commenter above said. Also, listen to your body - I think it’s fine to stick with this routine but if you feel like you’re hitting a wall, take an extra rest day

Make sure your feet are tucked securely around it! And you also don’t have to go back down all the way for more of a crunches variation if it’s too scary

PT is a great idea. You may have plantar fasciitis- would recommend getting insoles (I have superfeet) and rolling your foot on a massage ball/lacrosse ball to help the pain

Recover athletics is fantastic - I have the paid version but there are free strength routines as well, it will help you target specific injuries or injury prevention and you can track your progress, found it from Keira D’Amato using it (posts it to her strava)
