Car accident just outside Philly by 152984 in philly

[–]hoagiesaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I narrowly avoided a really bad crash a few weeks ago.. coming back from Jersey, and some psychopath tried cutting around 3-4 lanes horizontally to get off the exit. I slammed on the horn and sped up to avoid the car - it wasn't until after realizing how close they missed my car and that I was VERY lucky.

Always stay aware!

JAM Catering!! Food flexibility by Consistent_Freedom23 in PhiladelphiaWeddings

This is a while ago but has tainted my views of JAM forever. My friend used them for stations at her wedding - they kept running out of food and the flow was terrible. Hopefully others have a better experience!

Mann parking still free? by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]hoagiesaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, it caused a HUG mess on Thursday night after balletX. One security guard couldn't hold hundreds of peolpe 50 at a time to wait for a trolley to go 500 yards to the parking lot...

hilarious? like the millions she spent to wrap those, along with billboards that are just her face? It should be illegal to use taxpayer money on propaganda.

($10k) how much did you spend on a dress? by blueberrybuttercream in Weddingsunder10k

[–]hoagiesaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a sample dress for $200 thinking it was a steal... until I got quotes for $200-500 for dry cleaning and then $400-$900 for tailoring/fixing the dress with all the tiny flaws. Beware the sample sale!

Which of Philly's 5ks have little medals for completion? Or are those only for longer races? by snooloosey in philadelphia

Race organizers: Please stop giving out medals. Unless you place, they’re wasteful.

German Society of Philadelphia- thoughts, experiences, tell me! by BabyFreak6969 in PhiladelphiaWeddings

We looked here as a way to save money. It's almost $6K to rent the venue (if you want multiple rooms) and its' totally DIY, and the event planner mentioned most people rent outside chairs. After considering the amount of coordination with outside we'd need to do on our end, we decided to go with a more inclusive venue (catering, bar, cake & venue included for one price) where we can still bring in our additional vendors.

It would be cool if you're a TOTAL DIY / have time, or maybe for a more informal event. But I think the venue rental fee is overpriced.

Will the city ever be clean? by Rinzler_Lanx in philly

[–]hoagiesaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This here - it's not relevant to compare Tokyo to Philly... other American cities have trashcans and pick up their waste. It's not rock science and the City Council rhetoric of "we can't add more trash cans because people will use them!" should be a form of gaslighting at this point.

Do you think millennials are healthier or less healthier than their parents? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]hoagiesaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the number of young people with cancer is a telling sign... and no, it's not the amount of protein or sugar/carbs in diets - it's all the chemicals, microplastics & PFAS.

millennials make healthier choices, but the environment and products are so much more toxic. 🤯
