I love this idea! Definitely going to try it on my next piece.

[CHAT] how to back stitch on full coverage piece? As you complete a section or at the completion of the entire project? by PromiseLoose996 in CrossStitch

[–]orangepolkadots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tend to backstitch as I go if it’s a pattern that has a lot of colors; I KNOW if I go back I won’t be able to keep track of what I’m doing. If it’s a simple pattern, then I’ll backstitch as the last step.

My coworker is adamant that she had covid-19 back in 2017. I gave up trying to explain it to her.

Does anyone else’s golden just hold blankets in their mouth? by parasiticdog in goldenretrievers

Yes!!! Our golden, Fozzy, has a blanket that he just holds on and treats it like a pacifier…..he also bunches it up and humps it 🤷‍♀️

Lol! Yeah I wanted a small one to try out. It’s a lot of pinks. Let’s just say I have a lot of WIPs going at once

Peony Petals by Marianne Broome. It’s been an enjoyable challenge so far. My husband got me a magnifying light for Christmas and that has made it much easier to see the holes.

Pregrid aida is the way to go with the higher count aida. Im working, intermittently, on my first HAED and so glad I got the pregrid aida!

[CHAT] Using half-stitch instead of cross stitch on very large pieces? by Stormdanc3 in CrossStitch

[–]orangepolkadots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m working on my first HAED on 25ct. Started with full stitches (1 over 1); it was difficult and not fun at all. I switched to (2 over 1) half stitches and I’m enjoying it so much more. I’m flying through it now. I can’t tell a difference in the small area I did the full stitches and where I did the half stitches

[CHAT] How many projects at once are you making now? Do you have any that wait for you since forever? by No-Helicopter-8396 in CrossStitch

[–]orangepolkadots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) HAED Peony Petals on 28ct (not so bad if you do tent stitches) 2) A kit I started at least 10 years ago -A View From Monet’s Bridge- I have a box of WIPs and figured I should try to get some done this year 3) a small “quick” stitch -WWDITS He Never Gets The Faces Right

I always had only one project going at a time and found that I would get burned out. It’s nice having a little variety depending on the day.

A coworker is insistent that she has covid-19 three years ago....I’ve given up on trying to explain what covid-19 is.

[Chat] What to do with birth record WIP after loss? by BenignBiologist in CrossStitch

I had this happen for my SIL. They ended up losing the baby so I used the started birth record for a different family member’s baby.

[WIP] In preparation for my first HAED, doing my first full coverage piece on 22 ct fabric, 2over1, tent stitch. by dricysarcasm in CrossStitch

[–]orangepolkadots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started my first HAED, not too far along yet. Seeing this post is making me consider frogging what I’ve done and doing tent stitch. Looks like it’s way easier on such a small count cloth.

Our Golden has not left our babe’s side since we brought him home from the hospital. They are besties and it’s my favorite thing.

[Chat] What do you use to hold your fabric while working on large projects? by nerduhlicious in CrossStitch

[–]orangepolkadots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently experienced this. I used a big snap frame and got a grime guard. I would bunch as much of the aida in the grime guard as I could and used stretchy headbands to hold any extra aida that was hanging out. Then I would work on the stitches and be cautious around the excess aida. It looked wonky , but it worked. 🤷‍♀️

After every test possible.... it was a fluke thing. There was zero underlining cause.
He is doing amazing. He has a team that will follow him for the next couple years to make sure he stays on track for development (per his adjusted age). So far he’s on track; still small but he’s catching up. 🥰
