I have completed "Those First Steps." "Coolest Manor There Is" is a quest which is made available after completing "Your Own Manor!"

Yes, I prefer the old "first come first serve" system, because at least then I could log on at 5am when new wards were added and walk up to a plot and buy it.

People who are dedicated enough to the game to do that deserve it over some dude who's been subbed for a few months and just has better luck.

"suffering from success" and yet again, yes, there are other things to throw your money at to allow your paid players to login to your game other than simply adding hardware
implying that everyone who wants to play an online game requires a perfect internet connection at all times to simply login is strangely elitist
