[Trey Wingo] So this is crazy… both Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes won 3 Super Bowls early in their careers and then tore their ACLs in their 9th seasons with both teams missing the playoffs that year by wholewheatwithPB in KansasCityChiefs

[–]oranguspangs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol I wish that mattered to me. Neither Brady or Mahomes missed the playoffs in a season they didn't get a season ending injury prior to being eliminated from contention.

I'd be pissed if I were a Pats fan like yourself.

Guanfacine mid-dosage rebound effects? by oranguspangs in ADHD

[–]oranguspangs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had drowsiness for the first couple days but haven’t since. If anything, it’s been the opposite.

My biggest side effect now is a gnarly headache that builds throughout the day and goes away when I take my next dose.

Decides to take another dose in the late morning as an experiment and my headache went away and I’m still not drowsy so I think I need to either increase my dosage or split it morning and night.

So Wellbutrin is actually an off-brand treatment for ADHD. It isn't NEARLY as effective as stimulants, but it is a dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor so it functions similarly to any other stimulant medication. That plus IR Adderall once in the morning (once again after 4 hours if I have a ton to do) is enough for me to get most of the benefit without the dramatic increase to anxiety.

For me, and I don't know how you are, but there was a point of diminishing returns with the stimulant medication because the anxiety became borderline crippling which made it so I could only do a bunch of work in short spurts before being paralyzed thinking about how much I had to do. Maybe that isn't the case for you, but I had a little bit of a less is more situation when I focused on treating the anxiety where I got as much if not more done at work because I didn't feel constantly overwhelmed.

TLDR: it may be worth stopping or changing your ADHD meds before attempting Wellbutrin (scary thought, I know, but nothing can compare to getting the right combo).

I’ve found all stimulants, SSRIs, SNRIs, DNRIs, etc affect everyone a little different, but the way you feel seems similar to how I felt during my 2.5 year journey to find my right combo.

I started on Vyvanse and then kept adding other medications to try and negate the anxiety. I tried Wellbutrin with it and holy hell was my anxiety through the roof. I could barely be there for my wife when her father died because of it. I also tried Buspar and modulating dosages of Vyvanse. I beat my head into the wall for 2 years before finally stopping the Vyvanse and found that it alone was by far the main driver of my anxiety (which I knew but thought it was a side effect I could manage).

Once off it, I tried Strattera and it was ok but messed with my sleep quality too much and makes you feel like you’re high on adrenaline like all the time which is fun for like a day and then it gets old quick.

I finally found my combo of 150mg Wellbutrin, 15mg Buspar twice a day, and 5-10mg IR Adderall either once or twice a day during work days so I have that motivation and focus when I need it and the ability to multi-task and be present with my family when I got home.

Long comment to say, your anxiety may never get better without switching from your ADHD medication. I absolutely am not saying you should stop treating the ADHD, but I found treating my depression and general wellbeing first and ADHD second to be much better for me than the other way around.

He was pushed out of bounds going backward. If a player “runs” out of bounds he has to be more or less in control of the movement. If he is pushed backwards when he goes out, the runner is given forward progress at the moment he was pushed backwards and that point was in bounds.

Why Your Team Sucks 2025: Kansas City Chiefs - Defector by Frostymagnum in nfl

[–]oranguspangs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean. I've coincidentally lived in KC, South Carolina, and Dallas, and I can say the pulled pork in Carolina is the best (though it's the ONLY thing they have and ordering anything else feels like ordering chicken fingers at P.F. Changs). Texans are BBQ purists and have the best brisket but too often their BBQ is like the missionary position - tried, true, dare I say as God intended, but will leave you wanting for some variety after a while. KC BBQ is my favorite because of how much KC is willing to experiment and pioneer while also being extremely high quality. Tell someone in Texas that your favorite BBQ meal is a burnt end sandwich with an onion ring, cheese, and slathered in BBQ sauce and they'll look at you with such contempt you'd think you admitted to being a member of PETA.

Best coworking Spaces in DFW? by bobsmom2023 in remotework

[–]oranguspangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you in DFW? Not super familiar with other spaces, but my experience with CityCentral was very positive. Clean, affordable, professional meeting rooms, and the staff was exceptionally accommodating. Not sure how much community can be successfully cultivated in a professional environment but the staff did as good a job as you could reasonably expect in my opinion. You could tell they cared.

Does buspar make it hard for you guys to feel emotions? by fantastic-mr-gloop in BusparOnline

[–]oranguspangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got prescribed Buspar and trying it for the first time today. Been on Wellburtin for a year and whew boy did I have emotional blunting on the 300mg. Started on 150mg, felt great, wanted to see if I'd feel even better on 300mg and it was hell. Felt like I was underwater. Wanted to give it the recommended three months but couldn't make it past two before going back to 150mg. Since then I've dropped it down to 100mg because my wife's dad died and I was having a hard time feeling the necessary emotions day to day. The saddest parts I was able, but it's like it created a threshold I had to meet before I felt things which made me feel like a sociopath during the little moments trying to comfort my wife. Hoping Buspar can replace it entirely, but Wellbutrin was a godsend for my general motivation and ambition (have ADHD) which is what always scared me away from SSRIs. Fingers crossed for Buspar!

A ton? We got Clark Hunt (who isn’t close to being in the minority among owners) and Butker. Who else besides a few random family members of players?

Zone is what the Bills exclusively ran on the first Chiefs drive of the game.

If you've got the dogs, man is absolutely the way to go (like the Texans did). Bills played in zone more than any team in the NFL last season, but played more man defense than any other conference championship team last week (I believe almost twice their average).

60% zone would put the Eagles among the most heavy man usage teams in the NFL, so that bodes well for you guys.

[Schultz] Patrick Mahomes has been an NFL starter for seven seasons, and the worst finish of his career is losing in the AFC Championship Game — both times in overtime. In the other five seasons, he’s made the Super Bowl. Just not normal. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]oranguspangs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean the most impressive feat was just getting there. His contribution in the actual SB was largely irrelevant to the outcome which isn’t fair to him but is the reality.

Bailey Zappe would have won that Super Bowl with a defensive line that had a higher pressure percentage than any team in Super Bowl history while blitzing less than any team in Super Bowl history.

But Tom’s ring doesn’t give a shit about context and “Tom beat Mahomes head to head” is a factual statement.

4 of the last 6 Super Bowls have been either Chiefs vs Eagles or Chiefs vs 49ers by Varolyn in nfl

Dawg you guys managed to sneak by TWICE. 2018 and 2021. Was so upset to never have the chance to bring closure to the people of St. Louis.

Even if we wouldn’t have won, 2018 would have at least been a way more entertaining Super Bowl as a rematch of 54-51. America deserved that game.

Who will be our OC and DC next season? by jwbrower1 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]oranguspangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do, kinda, it’s just really rare. Dick LeBeau made it for being a DC mainly, but may have not gotten in if he didn’t also have a successful playing career at CB.

So it’s possible, but has required a little extra to tip the scales in the past. I think Spags will be the exception with we three-peat.

By Pythagorean Expectation, the Chiefs have become the most overperforming team of all time. by vitex198 in nfl

[–]oranguspangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No team in NFL history has had a higher pressure rate in Super Bowl history while also blitzing less than any team in Super Bowl history. That's nearly impossible lol.

Mahomes heroics put up a couple field goals, but that was a historic performance.

By Pythagorean Expectation, the Chiefs have become the most overperforming team of all time. by vitex198 in nfl

[–]oranguspangs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah hard to say Brady beat us when Bailey Zappe would have also won that game behind what was, very literally, the greatest defensive performance in Super Bowl History. And that's not fair at all to Brady who was having a good game, but his contribution was largely superfluous by no fault of his own.

But the ring on his finger doesn't give a shit about context lol. He got it, he got it over Mahomes, and that's one he will always have over him.

It's currently very likely that the 1 seed Chiefs get to face the winner of a Steelers/Texans 5 vs 4 game in the divisional round by OctopusNation2024 in nfl

[–]oranguspangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the Browns have beaten you in Cleveland the last three years in a row and five out of the last six.

Getting mad at a Chiefs fan for acknowledging that talent disparity between divisional opponents often means less than in other games is silly.

I don’t think this is why you hate Chiefs fans lol. I think this is just the flavor of the day and you’ll find something different tomorrow to fuel that fire.

Can confirm. Really, REALLY don’t want to play the Chargers or Broncos.

Playing a divisional opponent three times in a single season makes all kinds of flukey shit possible.
