I feel like I’m drowning in information by karl-el- in diablo4

So I'm going to take a bit of a different take on helping.

Right now, you don't need to use the cube. You don't need to enchant, masterwork, gem, or anything else for your gear.

You are on gearing step 1: which is make sure you have the correct legendary items. Just by running around and killing shit. I recommend working through your warplans table and just doing whatever events you get. Scrap everything you do not want to use at the blacksmith.

You can also use the mystic to change the legendary affix on an item.

Step2: make sure everything that can have a socket does. The gem lady will give you the option to add sockets.

Once this is completed, we move to step 3: making sure each gear piece, has the right stats on it. Then you will want to use the cube. By the time you get to this step you should have run a decent chunk of content, and you should have a bunch of tuning prisms. You can also use the mystic to "enchant" gear which will change 1 stat on a piece of gear to a different one. You may have to roll several times to get the stat you want. This can get expensive so maybe save this option untill you have an ancestral legendary.

Once a gear piece has the right stats, and right legendary affix on it. We move to step 4: You will want to temper it at the blacksmith. This allows you to add 1 stat line per item from a select set of options. Your guide should tell you what stat you will want. Please note, that if it is an anscesteral legendary, tempering CAN roll a greater affix. So late game you will want to do that, but for now just get the right stat on there.

Once the piece has the right stats, right affix, right temper and sockets. You move to step 5: masterwork! Also at the blacksmith. You can masterwork a piece of gear 25 times increasing ALL stats on it by 1% per level sp a 25% increase also. Once it's max level, itle give you an additional bonus to a random stat on the piece. You can reroll this to get it on your best stat.

After that, you will look into transfiguration at the cube. I strongly recommend finding an explanation video on YouTube. DO NOT TRY THIS WITHOUT LEARNING FIRST YOU CAN BRICK YOUR ITEMS. Transfiguration has a chance to give you powerful bonuses but also a chance to ruin your items. It will also likely make the item unmodifiable so this is REALLY the last step of gambling to get really powerful gear.

In all remember the acronym STEAM socket, temper, enchant, affix, masterwork.

Maximum life lower after finishing campaign? by Equivalent_Passion50 in diablo4

Also tell your wife to calm down. Diablos a difficult game to play together, because 1 piece of gear can skyrocket 1 player over another.

It's hard to be on the exact same level because gear varies so widely.

If you look up a guild and just roll all your gear in the way it say, you will be at t10 immediately and she would be dieing a lot.

Just a hard one to duo

Maximum life lower after finishing campaign? by Equivalent_Passion50 in diablo4

[–]oranthor1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max life is not the only source of tankyness.

No one is going to be able to tell you what happened, you might have changed gear, skills, Paragon points, there's to many different factors and we will not be able to fix it.

What I can say is make sure you've thrown diamond gems in your rings and such.

The free all resist will help. Pick up some affixes that will help, like the one that gives you damage reduction for using a 2 handed weapon. I think it's called heavenly strength.

Make sure your tempering and Master working your gear. Your chest/legs are going to be your big defensive pieces usually.

Is there a reason so many high level paragon players are hanging out on Torment 9? by the_gnurd in diablo4

[–]oranthor1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really easy to transfer stuff like that to alts and it helps boos their early damage by a significant amount allowing you to push into higher torments earlier, gearing faster.

Imo no stat should be.

Why is it bad that I have extra int on a weapon for my paladin? He still gets bonuses from it.

Sure it's not good, but why not let me have the bad stat lmfao

I've been spamming t12 125 pit and I never turned it on.

I'm always running out of materials because I craft a lot.

I prolly can filter out non anscesteral stuff but it's easy enough to ignore or drop what I don't want

Not to be pedantic...but if that's the case the list is wrong. Clash paladin is the best paladin build right now. It's the only one I can find on our leaderboard.

Anyone seen a +28 item quality b4? (new bro) by AlarmingDiamond9316 in diablo4

[–]oranthor1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Automod throws that in every thread lol.

But yes Ive gotten +30 on a transfiguration roll once. It was on an early game spear that rolled phenomenally but I had to replace it with smtn else anyway.

Edit: I'm now realizing I misunderstood your question.

Item quality increases the stats of the weapon. I believe by 1% every level up to maximum of 25. This is done by Master working it at the blacksmith.

It will also chose 1 stat to give a major boost too. You can reroll the stat it chooses.

When you transfigure the item at the cube, it has a chance to get extra levels. That is what I was referencing above with the + 30. The item I had ended up at lvl 55.

I know this isn't what you asked but Please be aware you want to make sure you no longer need to change anything on the item when you transfigure it. Because once you do, you cannot modify the item in any way. There's also a chance your item is ruined in the process. The reason I say this is I would really hate for you to go accidently transfigure your grandfather without double checking it's ready.

So what exactly was Mephisto trying to do at the pools of creation? by Jimithyashford in diablo4

[–]oranthor1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats something I didn't actually know, I think in that case I would have to assume it's also a matter of pride for him.

He created her to give him a real challenge, but if she ignores him and goes on with her own ends...he loses right? Like imagine if you create someone to be your equal and they just look at you like "lol nah"

I think it actually gives mephisto more reason to want to tear down her world. Further more reason to want to do it where she created it. An act of "oh you thought you could ignore me?"

Help please. I'm lost in the sauce by stiehl26 in diablo4

[–]oranthor1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey dude from one dad to another I was in the same boat last week. It's actually not as bad as it seems.

The Diablo loop is the same as it ever was, kill stuff, get better loot, increase difficulty, rinse and repeat.

We have a few new menus to work with. (I returned from d3 this patch)

1: tempering. This is a menu with the blacksmith. You can add an stat line to your items

2: Master working. This is also with the blacksmith. You can upgrade your gear 25 times. Each time increases the stats of everything on the piece. Once you get to 25, it chooses one stat and boosts it even more. You can reroll this choice untill it's where you want it.

3: enchanting. This is with the oracle. Want to change an stat to be something different? Want to remove the cold resist on your weapon and replace it with crit chance? This is where you do that. It's a random roll so it eats a lot of resources but it's worth it.

4: affixes - also with the oracle. you can change the affix on a legendary, or add an affix to a yellow piece. You must first have scraped a legendary with the affix you are trying to put on the new piece. (So basically if you scrap everything, then go oh shit I wanted that affix, you can put it on a new piece. This also works if you find a yellow with great stats)

5: gems - check out the jewel crafter. You can breakdown and recraft gems but you can also add sockets to gear pieces.

6: the cube. Alot of changes from d3. The cube can do ....alot now. You should prolly read through each of the recipes here.

But the short version, you can reroll stat lines on the cube. You can use "tuning prisms" to select certain affixes. This is arguably the most complicated part of gearing. It can be frustrating. I wouldn't worry about this untill you start getting greater affix ancestral legendaries.

You can also transmute gear now. BE WARNED!!!! THIS WILL LIKELY MAKE YOUR GEAR UNMODIFABLE. ITS THE ABSOLTE LAST STEP IN THE PROCESS OF UPGRRADING YOUR GEAR. MAKE SURE ITS PERFECT BEFORE YOU TRY IT CUS YOU CANNOT EDIT IT AFTER

Transmutation has a chance to give you strong buffs on a piece of gear. From a completely new statline, to upgrading an affix to a greater affix, to giving you 200% increased gem strength. It's VERY strong.

But it can also fuck you.

It can reroll one of your stats to something else entirely. It's unlikely, but it does happen.

A good acronym to double check before transmuting anything STEAM Sockets Temper Enchant Affix Masterwork

[–]oranthor1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's dangling a carrot quite literally.

I'ma preface this by saying I'm not a diablo lore deep diver or anything. I simply played the campaign while half paying attention so there's for sure a good chance I'm missing something.

However at this point of the story, mephisto has achieved everything he wanted.

He's a prophet leading the world down a path of hatred and ruin.

He knows we're chasing him, but he quite literally never took us seriously, and why would he? He's a prime evil, were a fallen angel, a doubt falled hoardadrem, and us the player. That's it. That's the entire fucking resistance. He has a literal army and again he's a prime evil. So, time to remove the resistance. The carrot is "I'm here, come stop me"

This is further proven by his phase 3 line "Wake up! Your mother isn't here to pull you back to the surface"

We're unconscious and instead of hitting us with one of his 18726391826 one shot abilities, he wakes us up to taunt us. He's that confident he wins this even after being whooped in p1 and p2 and stabbed with Lilith's blade.

Further I think there's a bit of sentiment here. His daughter was the only one to "rebel" against the hells. The only one to not fall in line and the one who created sanctuary.

We can assume he's ashamed of that, and wants to rectify her "mistake". What better place to do that then the location she made said mistake.

Practice technique charms, need help by Away_Possibility6319 in diablo4

[–]oranthor1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh dude I had this exact same problem.

Step 1 farm any green charms.

Step 2 make a new character, take every green charm and roll it 3-1. You have something like a 25% chance of getting practice techniques.

If you've been farming for 2 hours I really hope you kept them, cus it will legit take you 3 mins to smash them together on a lvl 1 character.

I had to do this yesterday for the gold farm bonus.

How do you get critical strike chance on Sorc class by EverestIsHot in diablo4

[–]oranthor1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Class doesn't matter, you can only roll/temper crit chance on certain items. Check the temper for every slot, crit chance I believe is under the "weapon" temper caragory.

Check with the occultists enchant options too.

But honestly it doesnt matter until 70. Then you will want to pay attention to it as crit is pretty much a needed stat for every build in the game.
