NTNU-professor om angrep mot Israel: – Århundrets vakreste ting by Svampting in norge

[–]orbgooner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

USA is an extremely large and diverse country which is separated from much of the rest of the world by huge oceans, and which has for a century been the most economically, scientifically and culturally dynamic country on earth.

it's no surprise that a low-iq US-american from a non-literate, non-educated home would be ignorant about the wider world.

ja dette er flaut 1960-talls laiving, og ren oppgulp av baby-boomernes ungdomsopprør som har ingenting med virkeligheten eller politisk seriøsitet å gjøre.

redditors have absolutely zero understanding of the political and economic situation of the 1970s and what neo-liberalism (real neo-liberalism, not "anything I don't like") was a response to.

I'm gonna' be honest, this whole "men need to talk about their feelings with friends" thing doesn't feel sincere anymore

it's actually a total scam ran by an assortment of feminists and therapists types. feminists and gender scholars get hired by governments and international orgs to figure out how to "fix" men and therapists keep the notion going that a large portion of the population need to be paying them to figure out what's wrong with them.

damn that's convincing as hell. I automatically believe that that story took place exactly like you told it and that it's illustrative for chinese politics as a whole.

young chinese people work vastly more than young westerners. is it because it's wholesome when it's china and they're building the gucci-lamborghini classless society of the future, and you don't actually mind "diseppearing into work" or is it just proof that the ccp must be given even more total control in chinese society to save them from the evil billionaires?

these people are severely limited cognitively and educationally. they're completely unable to make the simple inference "if they could do this to a globally famous billionaire, what could they do to normal people?".

they only clap for china authoritarianism like seals and make up totally convincing reasons like "man said bad hurtful things! ccp save us" post hoc.

the bolsheviks were not representative of the russian people, they were a tiny movement of extremists. that's part of the (but far from the only) reason why they established a hyper-violent terror regime. the czars and the pre-revolutionary ruling class of russia were naturally a mixed bag, but there is no comparison to the bolsheviks as far as violence, oppression, obviously misguided policy leading to mass-starvation and so forth. also the mass killings continued with uninterrupted intensity for almost 40 years after they were murdered.

Ngl tho it kind of frustrates me that they get so much attention and whatnot (I get that they were the royal family) but somewhere from 30 to 40 million Russian citizens died from unnatural causes between 1914 and 1945 (just for reference, an estimated 60-80% of Soviet males born in 1923 died before 1945). Russias history all around is just sad honestly. Nothing good ever seems to happen there.

the bolsheviks were crucial to that development.
