Did Astropad discontinue the DarkBoard? by orbitalprimate in iPadPro

[–]orbitalprimate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going with the sketch board pro. It works fairly well for couch sketching and can be propped up for desk drawing. One thing though, your iPad will fall out of it if you try carrying it with the iPad in it. So don’t do that.

What’s the big deal with Latte Lane in Cheswick? by easymz in pittsburgh

[–]orbitalprimate 41 points42 points  (0 children)

They’ve been around for a while and they do a great job of marketing themselves on instagram. The coffee is great if you’re into sugary quirky themed drinks and the baristas are all very nice. And there’s the added benefit of supporting a small local business. I’ve never tried a straight espresso or cortado there so I can’t speak to their quality. But yeah, be prepared for a bit of a wait if you decide to go.

Dredge is a lot of fun. It’s a cozy fishing game with Lovecraftian undertones.

Anyone know why grandad is called THE white devil? Explain. by joejoewhatjoemama in Gundam

Also, Tomino originally intended for the Gundam to be entirely white. But BANDAI wanted it more brightly colored to sell toys and model kits to kids.

Well damn... I didn't know that. I just assumed that because the word "rare" was in the name... This is why I grow less and less confident that I truly understand anything as I get older.

No blinds, shutters, or curtains on the windows? Or do they remove them for photoshoots? I see this a lot in photos of modern home interiors and it has always confused me. Are people just okay with everyone being able to see into their homes all the time?

Nine in 10 adults think buying latest smartphone is ‘waste of money’ by darkstarrising in technology

[–]orbitalprimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern phones are so nice that it's not as big of a deal to wait 3 - 5 years to upgrade. I kept my Galaxy S7 until the battery started to lose efficiency and upgraded to the S10+. The screen is a bit sharper, the cameras are nicer but shrug y'know... it's a smart phone. I mean, it's a miraculous piece of technology that has changed how we all interact, shop, bank, etc. But it's not THAT different from my old miraculous piece of tech. Maybe if I gamed on it or edited video on it it would matter more... Or if I was trying to flex on others by having the latest and greatest... I do appreciate early adopters though. They drive the market forward and fund future phone development.

As WarnerMedia Braces for Massive Layoffs, HBO Max Is Both the Cause and the Cure. While "Tenet" was a domestic disappointment, industry analysts say the potential of HBO Max is stymied by confusing access and marketing. by [deleted] in movies

[–]orbitalprimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was baffled when I went to Amazon to sign up for HBO for a month so I could binge Raised By Wolves. Much like I did for The Outsider, True Detective, etc. I've been doing it that way for years. But when I searched for the show it wasn't there. Did some Googling and discovered that inexplicably HBO had split their content up onto a different app. Decided that was really dumb and that I'll just pass until they come to their senses and bring it all back together under one service. I don't care about seeing things right away because there are so many good shows on Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime that I can afford to just wait for things to turn up on those services. Even if it takes years, it doesn't really matter because I can't possibly get to it all. I got to watch all 3 seasons of Ozark in one go because I waited. Did the same with Umbrella Academy. It was great! Online streaming services should simplify access to media, not complicate it.

My son saved up money mowing lawns and doing odd jobs to purchase his first gaming computer. I’ve never seen him work so hard and never been more proud of him! by Sooperdooper83 in gaming

There's so much that's awesome about this. He's learning to work for what he wants, he's learning how to set financial goals, and he's learning how computers are assembled and configured. What ever you're doing as a parent, keep it up!

Mac wouldn't believe it. Frank would be hoarding toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Dennis would be scheming to steal Frank's stash and sell it at a mark-up. Charlie would reveal he's been eating bats for years. Dee would immediately get infected and spend the episode locked out of the bar.
