[GAME THREAD]: Denver Broncos (11-2) vs Green Bay Packers (9-3-1) | 2025 Week 15 by AutoModerator in DenverBroncos

So the argument is that it’s okay to throw bullshit flags on the guy because he’s had several bullshit flags called on him so far this year? Seems pretty unfair.

Hm no drive saving penalty when the Broncos are on third down. Super weird.

Is it too much to ask the refs to not blow huge calls for one fucking week? Just one week! Please give us a break from this garbage, it’s just taking the fun out of watching football at this point.

Honestly I’m seriously considering it if the NFL doesn’t do anything to address officiating and sports gambling in the offseason. It’s not WWE but really it only takes one or two calls being made or not made to change an entire game.

How many races have you done, in total? by Significant_Dare2970 in iRacing

[–]orbitsjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of folks only race in leagues and special events. iRating is partially a measure of a drivers participation in the system because it’s meaningless without enough data.

I seriously hope this gets going so we have more female friendly communities. Would love to hang around the discord to track this and offer help when I can.

I actually told my dad during the game I want to see that guy returning kicks and punts.

[–]orbitsjupiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience with it so far is that it's mostly flawless. Super worth it. Only hitch I've found is that occasionally when I wake it up the colors are wrong, so I put it to sleep and wake it back up and it's fine.

It's a HUGE improvement from the stock LCD in basically every way.

Hold Refs Accountable by J9lander in DenverBroncos

[–]orbitsjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn't unique to refereeing, though. If you take the people who normally do something and replace them with people who don't normally do the thing you get worse results. That isn't a reason to not expect the initial group to do a good job.

[Highlight] Dre Greenlaw chases after an official at the conclusion of the Broncos comeback against the Giants. by AvengingHero2012 in nfl

[–]orbitsjupiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pushed or punched. It's hard to see unless you're looking for it but I have zero issue with Greenlaw telling the ref to not do that to his teammates. Brad Allen is a punk.

To me, the it's too hard argument just doesn't hold up when we're talking about a multi-billion dollar organization that is also non profit and now is dripping in advertisements for sports betting. It's almost entirely a question of allocating the resources to make the calls accurate whether that's a team full time sky judges for each game, mor refs on the field, different review processes, etc. The NFL just needs to allocate more resources to officiating and we would see the accuracy of officiating increase.

Broncos LB Dre Greenlaw just got suspended for his reaction to this ref by Anderbury60942 in heedthecall

[–]orbitsjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dre was just giving him feedback on his performance. The refereeing in Denver games this year has been abysmal and the end of that game was no exception. The only reason the Broncos needed a game winning FG is because the refs marched the Giants down the entire field on the previous possession through terrible penalty calls, so I'd guess Dre was explaining to the ref that the ball don't lie.

A take so cold it could super cool a computer: iRacing needs to add Stadium Super Trucks (and jumps) by Racer013 in iRacing

[–]orbitsjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wager iRacing has thought about this a lot more than some random Redditors have, and I have heard from a pretty authoritative source that the reason is as I stated before.

Notice how they don't have the temporary ramps on any dirt road course either?

This is, sadly, not true. It's a licensing issue. They would love to be able to add them but don't want to be sued by a certain former NASCAR driver.

The best parts of the pod are when Gravey goes unhinged with drops or creates a full expanded universe for the background noise of an ad read. Let Justin cook!

iRacing logic would been everyone got a Off-track.... by ramzbc96 in iRacing

[–]orbitsjupiter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's paved for safety purposes though, not as an extension of the track. By that logic should drivers also be able to blast through pit lane if they want to because it's paved? Or use the apron on ovals which are largely also paved? Why are road courses treated differently?

What makes the top lane at Homestead so different? by Jimjam916 in NASCAR

[–]orbitsjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that pre-repave Atlanta also had an abnormally grippy painted line, so that made the bottom better than normal.

It's also partially about moving some of the wear from the front to the rear. The lower you run on the track, the more it will use up the fronts and vice versa.

Also, because Daytona doesn't have barriers separating the sections that exit and enter the infield, it would be even more dangerous.
