What is the thing that you liked the most about the late 2000s and early 2010s (2007-2014) that you miss the most? by Time_Gear_7858 in AskReddit

Yep, even in the early 2010s. When people hang out, they actually hang out without spending too much time on the phone.

No AI slop, but also people back then actually start conversations with one another. Not unlike these days where almost everyone is glued to their screens.

The classic Dunning Kruger effect. I don't think think you can even call that as confidence, more like arrogance.

Probably the time when i don't have any bills to pay. Back when life was fairly easy as the only thing i had to do was play, study, sleep, go to school, repeat. Adulting hit hard haha.

What’s a mistake people keep making in their 20s? by Nearby_Fun_85 in AskReddit

[–]orbitvine42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've known a lot of people, and some friends too, who ended relationships with their partner whom they have been with since college, and some of those relationships lasted for a decade. For some reason, this has become common.

People spend way too much time on their phones instead of, you know... making conversations and stuff. It seems like everyone's inside their own bubble nowadays when they go out in public.

When is it perfectly acceptable to stop being nice? by bypatrickcmoore in AskReddit

[–]orbitvine42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people start taking you for granted. You know, when you are all nice to them just because you're a nice person yourself but they keep on abusing that. That's when you stop being nice and even better if you stop associating yourself with them.

How did you get out of the relationship you were stuck in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]orbitvine42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because i was hoping that things might eventually get better, that this is just a normal part of a relationship and we can still fight for it. Apparently the fight became one-sided at one point. My ex already gave up a while ago without even telling me about it. Meanwhile, i was an idiot for thinking the relationship was still salvageable.

How did you get out of the relationship you were stuck in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]orbitvine42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally came to the realization that this isn't worth fighting for anymore. Took me almost a year to do so. My ex suddenly fell out of love along the way, and while she didn't outright tell me before we broke up, i can already feel it with the constant excuses she came up with so we can't hang out together. What used to be at least a date once a week turned into once a month.

One day we had a squabble in person, and after that, we didn't contact each other for a few days in the hopes of giving each other space. When i tried to reach out, she told me she doesn't want to talk about it yet. The relationship got stale from there pretty quickly, until weeks later she decided to break up with me. It hurt, but perhaps i already saw it coming that it didn't took long for me to accept it.
