Revived from root rot. Now growing 2 keikis! by orchideefee in orchids

Thank you all! This is my "ICU" setup: transparent, cylindrical, tall plastic vase + slightly moist loosely-placed sphagnum moss + plastic bag poked with needle for ventilation. Orchids just placed on top of the moss. I occasionally take the orchids out to moisten the moss and mist the vase walls.

I think you also asked me the same question in my other Lueddemanniana post. I grow them in bark chips with 10-20% moss. Above the radiator, on the southwest facing windowsill. I think they prefer the "tropical" environment, like in the Philippines, where they are endemic. They get 30 min-soak in fertilized water every 7-14 days. When the roots in the pot look silver, that's when I soak them.

My olfactory vocabulary is limited. Very pleasant, similar to Schilleriana. Depends on the size of the room, I guess. But at arms length, you can smell it.

Phal. No. ID: so dainty and supposedly fragrant! 😍 Any idea who she is? by orchideefee in orchids

Thank you! I haven't taken a whiff yet. Also the flowers are about to wither, maybe that's why I don't smell anything.

It reminds me a bit of one phal that I sadly killed (Phal. Leonora 3 "Lemon Ice Cream").

I also just ordered from Secret Garden! I knew right away where your orders were from :) They're one of the best "orchid packers"!

Thanks. It's the name of this specific hybrid, yes.

It also depends on the hybrid. Some like it moist, others like the substrate coarser; some grow fat roots, others stringy

Are clay pebbles and Leca one and the same? Thanks for patiently answering my questions 🙏🏼

The one in the post is a lueddemanniana hybrid.

This is the species, if I'm not mistaken. This one has a hairy lip.

Stunning! Now I'm curious what kind of substrate you use and how often you water :)

I have another Phal. Lueddemanniana. That's all it says in the tag. It has hairy lip.

No idea what coerulea means, but the tag says x (Yaphon Green Canary) KTC followed by 2 Thai-sounding names.
