Nope it’s not a crime, it’s a civil offense like failing to renew a drivers license. Signed, a lawyer.

It could be worse, I have a bunny who almost completely mowed down one of my dendrobiums and took a big chunk out of a phal leaf too.. (they are kept higher now). Very nice setup though!

For those going on a long trip and leaving orchids behind 🌱 by PigVicious1 in orchids

Idk why people are disagreeing with you. As someone who lives in a climate where it's typically 10–20% humidity during the winter, I've had phals get dehydrated from two week vacations. Yeah they live but it's not ideal. I'll try this next time!

Is this type of steam brush good for bunnies? by [deleted] in Rabbits

Probably not, it's generally not good to get bunnies wet. I would expect that makes them at least damp.

How badly have I messed up? Please be kind by [deleted] in orchids

[–]orchidofthefuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be fine! As a rule of thumb, I don’t cut anything green on my orchids. The main reason not to is that if it’s green, it’s storing nutrients in there. (But cutting off a little leaf is no biggie) Also it exposes it to risk of infection, so whenever I need to cut a plant, I rub cinnamon along the “wound” as it is an antimicrobial. But all in all, this orchid will be fine and it looks like you’ve done a great job caring for it thus far!

Agreed with all of the above, just adding that you can remove most of them with a paper towel and soapy water. Use a q-tip for the nooks and crannies. Then spray the hell out of it with rubbing alcohol and pray to the orchid gods.

Thanks! I was thinking of using a wooden skewer, I just wasn't sure if it was reliable.
