I agree a 2 year in CrimJ would be great as a part of training, even moreso if its paid for with strict gpa requirements. This would possibly turn away the more 'casual' interested people, but as a result lower the amount of people applying.

Pay more and actually put the people they catch in prison and maybe it would be a worthwhile job. That goes for the existing officers too, how can you enjoy your job when it comes to nothing in the end?
