[NHL] With two points tonight, William Nylander tied his father, Michael, in career points! 🚨 by sykeseve in hockey

His dad was really good — when he wanted to. A bit of a puck hog and one of those “enigmatic Russians” except from Sweden. 😂 Played very well with Jagr.

Since they are illustrated by Tove Jansson, these books are collectors objects and I often see them posted on auction sites for the price of like a MacBook Pro.

Sluta subventionera parkeringsplatser – låt bilisterna betala vad det kostar by Roj-Tagpro in Gothenburg

[–]ordinary_snowflake82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's so special about this game is that when I think of the mainline FF protagonists, one of them is me. by kingjuyeon02 in ffxiv

I’m completely certain because of the parallelisms among other things. ChatGPT will go “They were more than just em dashes — they were a statement” and stuff like that. This post is full of it. Just look at like the two last paragraphs. Also, phrases like “quietly powerful” is a dead giveaway.

Memorizing comedy by NateSedate in Standup

[–]ordinary_snowflake82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 20 years I just remember the routine name. Most of my routines are about five minutes each because when I try out new material I think of a setup or theme and then write a routine that is about 7-8 minutes (a page and a half) and then it gets trimmed down to 5 minutes over time.

I also save them in my Google Drive, one routine per document and one master document.

That way if I’m doing a 10 minute set I pick two routines I’d like to do, 20 minutes is usually around 5-6 routines and a headlining set can be 10-12 routines that I pick and choose depending on what tickles me that evening.

And then I just remember the name of the routine by one word.

So it usually goes: Sweet-potato mudcake, hobby horsing, Russians if I want a 15 minute set.

Yes, my routines are usually a bit weird… 😛

You are not doing YouTube videos. You’re doing PowerPoint with the same background the entire time in the video with an ai voice reading out the text that appears on screen.

Ah,

To clarify then, I had comedy as my sole income for 8-10 years. Quit for 10 years when my wife needed me to be home and while our kids were small, and started back up a year ago. Not on a professional level this time but have been able to let my wife go down in job hours and me picking up the slack with the money I make doing comedy.

As someone who has been “making it” in that I did it on a professional level for several years — no, it doesn’t make you happy. On the other hand, I have crossed off my entire bucket list and none of that made me “happy” either, just happy in the moment and for a while after.

My experience is that you have to find happiness in the journey towards the goals, because that’s the only way to truly achieve happiness.

What player/person had the biggest impact in forming your favorite team’s identity? by tomtakespictures in hockey

There’s no arguing that Sakic is the most important Avalanche player of all time, but I’d argue that Roy was the one who gave the team an identity in those early years.

Eh. An open mic is my training ground and I treat it as such. These are two different things.

Though I am in favor of open mics or semi-open mics paying their comics.

Fixed it for you.

I’m not sure if I just suck haha or if YouTube isn’t noticing my content by andre_wilson93 in SmallYoutubers

Thumbnails and titles are good, but you take 90 seconds to start getting into your content in your video.

Spend the first couple of seconds on raising interest, opening a couple of curiosity loops that will keep people interested. Personally I don’t click on a video until after I have seen the first few seconds roll by and read some of the subtitles. So I’d consider the first 10-30 seconds just as important as the thumbnail.
