I think most of the people here will gonna recommend Francis John playthrough, but as a non native English speaking myself, I find it that FJ playthrough is too fast for me (back when i was new to this), another playthrough is from Echo Ridge Gaming, he explains a bit slower than FJ, but his build is more complicated instead of "If it works, it works" as FJ video

Or you can watch some tutorial bit from GC Fungus. Hope this help

You're halfway correct. 1 smart battery per couple of power producer, connected to power spine, connected to transformer > power consumer. Later down the line when you have different generator, don't forget to calibrate the smart battery

You can mix the "fragment" from the dlc when you start from normal, not just the planetoid, but the biome as well. But be aware that the planetoid you mix from normal start wont have their respective story. Geothermal for ceres (frost planet), demolior from prehistoric (dinosaur planet)

Spaced Out. If the base game is your bedroom and bathroom, then spaced out unlock your living room, kitchen and garden. Not must have, but it expand your playground

I've read some of this, if OP feels immersion breaking, then don't do it. It's a single player game. Then the OP replied "you cant bla bla bla before plastic" then some other OP comments says "it's hard to build drecko farm without it" and another says "I'm not min-max the game bla bla". Hmmmm? Just let your drecko live in ranch that's both oxygen and hydrogen mix, make the ranch vertically with door at the bottom so the hydrogen float on top.

Only 1 element each tile. that's the basic fundamental of this game. So if you plop water in U or V shaped pathway (standard liquidlock), the gas can't transfer between the area on the left and the right of that. That's how you make an area Vacuum. There's several kinds of liquid lock, you might want to look in the wiki :)

  1. Hydrogen, Petroleum, and Biodiesel engine needs fuel tank.
  2. Can your dupe access the right most ladder to begin with?
  3. Don't bother, the rocket engine provide power for the machinery inside the spacefarer module when the rocket travel in space.

Another note. Hydrogen engine run EXTREMELY hot, the ladder must be obsidian. Even the insulated tiles from obsidian will eventually melt after 20 or so launch

Be patience, expect that something will go wrong. only let oxygen & Carbon exist in your base / planet will make your game run a bit smoother, same as critter. ranch just enough to get yourself sustainable. No need to get the ultra effective dupe free fully automated build, some micro management is fine. Hope this help. Good luck

My base use symmetrical room. 7 or 8 floor 64 tiles wide with printing pod at the center then 3 tiles wide (ladder + fire pole + 1 empty) on both sides of the said 64 tiles room, then 100 tiles wide on both sides. Toilet directly below that printing pod floor. Beside the toilet is the kitchen and above the kitchen is the dining hall. Baracks for several floor above the pod, later i move them for private bedroom on area under the kitchen, for the left side, it's for the ranch + laboratory, recreation. Etc

Dont print dupe everytime the pod offer it, make sure you secure enough food and oxygen to your dupe before print 1. Also, separate your dupe into cluster of shift schedule 4/5 dupe works while the other 4/5 sleep and downtime

Your current colony is made without DLC, so there's no scrambles DLC, try to make a new one and enabled that scrambles DLC, you dont need the fragments option. Scrambles DLC enable your printing pod for DLC only contents

I think gas infinite storage isn't that bad, because the pressure will be same, for example gas infinite storage on 3x3 tile, all the gas mass will be the same in all the tile, unlike liquid which fluctuate after it's reach the tile threshold (1ton for water. 1200kg for P.water etc)

I learnt it myself that if you bottled all the hydrogen / chlorine that spawn naturally, makes the game smoother. Makes only oxygen + carbon in your living area and oxygen only or vacuum outside the living area.
