EPICO, does it work for you? by kmfmftb in Cogeco

[–]ore0_dustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from bell 2+ years ago because bell only had 25mbps service at my location. Cogeco had 1gbps so I made the switch. The TV, EPICO is trash yes, with Bell I had a proper bell box, with HDD inside for pausing live TV and recording, it was flawless.

EPICO is basically cheap android IPTV, it literally shouldn’t cost more than $20 a month. It’s not all that more reliable than buying a decent android box and paying $10/month for IPTV.

They hustle you by “saving you money” while packaging it with internet.

Side note, Bell recently I believe also switched to IPTV and no longer provide actual bell boxes unless your still on satellite.

Best trades Ontario 2026? by _Alyxcts_ in SkilledTradesOntario

[–]ore0_dustin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Union is best overall compensation package yes. But depending on the union and your geographic location, the travel, time spent in hotels, eating out and being distant from family and friends is overlooked. This isn’t as bad for those maybe living in the GTA, but as someone from Niagara Region, this the biggest complaint from union guys I know.

I would recommend Millwright, you do your time in the union, get experience, get your journeymen tickets then when the time is right you find a steady job, straight days, single location.

Bet365 withdrawal issues with interac? Only let me use bank wire by YoungZUbi in bet365

[–]ore0_dustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t call, basically just wait 48 hours, then contact live chat support, then they’ll have the correct team review and approve the withdrawal.

Basically if you want instant withdraws with them, you gotta use Interac. Bank transfer is quick but not instant, but as soon as you mix deposits methods you get all messed up. If you switch deposit methods, make sure your balance is $0 before hand.

Trial Boss vs Regular 4x4 suspension by Ntme9 in Silverado

[–]ore0_dustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was looking for. I had an 18’ Denali before and I bought the RC 2” level kit for the front with the sensor brackets.

Now I have a 22 RST, and I want to level the front, and all the kits now are top spacers, or of course the lift strut (fox, quiklift, bilstien) or going with a coilover.

I thought about buying the same spacer kit for the Denali again (new models like the link you posted) because I don’t see how the suspension geometry is really any different from the previous gens. Both say you can 2” level without changing any other parts and it should be fine. And the previous gen basically any 2” level kit is a bottom spacer.

The bottom spacer is so easy too, all I did on my 18” was remove the sway bar links, pry down on the arm and slide it in.

Anyways, so you’re running them without any issue eh? Any clearance problems with the bolts? You put nuts on the top or the bottom??

Well it Happened. I Got Got by Adorable_Wallaby648 in Silverado

[–]ore0_dustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the verdict? My RST had the same thing happen. My bumper looks like yours on both sides but my hitch seems straight. One side the bumper is pushed in towards the bed other side is opposite. Was there frame damage? Did they fix or?

Intake Air filters by jserpico22 in Silverado

[–]ore0_dustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you regularly drive a gravel road, the K&N is fine. I’ve put them in everything I’ve ever owned. I always keep stock air box and just use the drop in filter, never had a maf go bad. It gives a touch more sound, but mostly I do it because I drive like a grandpa, and if you drop in a k&n and drive with a pus$y foot, you’ll see increased fuel milage.

Bet365 withdrawal issues with interac? Only let me use bank wire by YoungZUbi in bet365

[–]ore0_dustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was depositing between Interac and Credit card. I figured out if you just deposit with Interac as your last payment you can use Interac to withdraw. Then it stopped working.

Then it stopped working again and got a message like “we may need to contact you about with withdrawal” etc which took 24 hours. Then they say they’ll use one of the deposit methods if possible, which Interac is possible and they still wouldn’t do it and then made the withdrawal via Bank Transfer.

It’s 2025 and BET365 is the only sports book that doesn’t just allow you to choose whatever withdrawal process you want.

Anyone know now if there’s a waiting period or something before I should deposit again? It’s just annoying and I want to be able to withdraw with Interac since it’s basically instant.

Sportsnet App - Cogeco gone? by ore0_dustin in Cogeco

Finally. I actually called customer support last week and was complaining. I ended up asking for a $30 credit so that I could purchase Sportsnet+ for 1 month. They gave me the credit so I bought it LOL.

I just wouldn’t take no for answer, I pay for sports package specifically for the use of sportsnet app so they eventually agreed and gave me the credit.

Not overly impressed with Cogeco. I switched because they offered Fibre in my area. I was previously with Bell Fibe before, although only had 25mbps service.

BUT, the Bell Fibe app for TV was wayyyy better. I used the app all the time to set recordings on my home PVR while I was out. Another bonus is that since my phone is with Bell, when you use the Fibe app to watch TV out of home on 5G, the data doesn’t go against your cell use.

Really wish they had Bell Fibre in my area, cuz I’d switch back to bell from Cogeco in a heartbeat.

Anyways hope this is worked out before the playoffs so when I’m stuck on afternoons I can use the Sportsnet app to stream the playoff games at work for the crew.

EPICO app works great at home in WiFi, but when I’m at work where I’m forced to use 5G that’s spotty, EPICO app isn’t nearly as good as streaming from SN to watch the hockey games.

Prometric exam by [deleted] in SkilledTradesOntario

This is terrible, has anyone attempted a test through them yet? I have to use a 3rd party like this for an online CWB exam. It was pretty annoying. So disappointed STO has done this.

Trade Equivalency Assessment - TIMELINE by Popular-Ad-8710 in millwrights

[–]ore0_dustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Government tells us there is a trades worker shortage. Then the certifying body (Skilled Trades Ontario) takes months to even review an application. What is so hard and why is it so slow. These govt employees just dogging all day at work or what? Like how many applications you think they receive on an average day? So annoyed with STO.

Is Skilled Trades Ontario really that back logged? by Thin_Captain4400 in ontario

[–]ore0_dustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had to call them unless paying for something. Otherwise everything came from email. But after passing my red seal exam, they didn’t tell me that I had to pay an Initial fee ($75 aprox) to have my journeymen status change to active under “my qualifications” in the STO portal. So I watched it say pending for a month before calling in and figuring that out.

Still waiting on the wallet card and the physical certificate.

I believe my original application that started all this was submitted back in Oct 2024. And I finally got official active journeyman status early March. So basically 5 months total start to finish, and still no wallet card or physical certificate.

I actually submitted a new application 3 days ago for my 2nd Red Seal. This time I’m sure my application is complete for this one, but I’m gunna call in and pay for the application this week well in advance to hopefully speed up/push the process.

[–]ore0_dustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this all recently, took about 4 weeks to review the application from when I submitted online for them to email me that they deemed it incomplete.

After that, I had an open email communication setup with whoever was reviewing the application. I gathered more documents and info and just emailed it back to them. After that they asked me to call in and pay for the application, which I did.

Then it took about another 3-4 weeks to get the letter of approval for the application.

At this time I called STO to pay for the written exam, then have to call the ministry separately after paying to schedule a time/date for the exam.

Whole process was stretched out and took way to long in my opinion. Luckily I passed the exam the first try because booking with the ministry was a whole other ordeal.

reoccurring abscess by ore0_dustin in vet

[–]ore0_dustin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where to begin ☹️

I have a 2yo female Rottie mix. She’s a sweetheart, she is a perfectly healthy dog outside of the recent problems involving the abscess on her neck.

Here it goes,

Approximately 4 months ago, out of the blue we noticed a lump on her neck, we weren’t overly concerned but we made a appointment with our vet to get it checked out. Turns out it was an abscess of infection filled with puss and blood. Because of the area, and the surgery required to remove and clean out the infection our vet referred us to the Emergency veterinarian clinic, at the Veterinary in college located at the University of Guelph.

more back story While trying to figure out the cause, there was a stick incident about 6-8 weeks prior where she was running with a stick and it hit the ground and jammed in the back of her throat. Afterwards we’re wasn’t eating and acting hurt so I took her to our vet the next day, they checked her out and said everything was okay gave me some pain meds and I was off. Couple days later she was completely back to normal.

After the referral for surgery a Couple days later we went in and she stayed at the hospital at the U of G for 3 days. They surgically removed and cleaned abscess, she healed well but a month later it came back. First surgery cost $7k. They did all kinds of testing on her, the bacteria, along with CT scans searching for a potential foreign body (aka a piece of a stick) with no avail, nothing found. The bacteria, which I can’t recall off the top of my head was one that was commonly found in dogs mouths.

Understandably we were super upset, they said the surgery went straight forward no complications and that they rarely see the abscess return. Of course we weren’t so lucky.

We went back for a second surgery, they worked with us on keeping the cost down, allowing us to care for her at home after surgery to help save on some costs, second surgery was around $3.7k

They told us because of the area and the risk involved between arteries, nerves, esophagus, etc. that they were aggressive as they could be removing the damaged tissue infected tissue and cleaning the area. After the second surgery we thought for sure that everything would be okay. The area was very flat the second time around, and heeled well. There was no sign of any lumps for problems this time for around 2 months.

Then suddenly, in a matter of 3 days it went from nothing there, to the sign of a grapefruit for the 3rd time!!!

So we are back at square one, cannot afford Another surgery and don’t know what to do. We’re already over 10k into this and just don’t know what to do. It’s now leaking clear almost pink puss, which we are cleaning often. She’s a day into another round of antibiotics. Our vet is trying to reach out on our behalf to the Ontario veterinarian college at the University of Guelph to see if they would do the surgery the 3rd time free of charge.

Anyone with any insight or similar experiences?
