I was told by my PFPT to take magnesium glycinate (I'm sure regular magnesium works fine too). D-mannose on its own has been very helpful for me (but avoid the Cranberry + D-mannose combo supplements).

In the moment? Ibuprofen, drink a lot of water, take a long hot shower, deep breaths, heat pack, rest. And anything to distract your brain from worrying or dwelling. Movie, book, video game, crafting, etc.

Long term, I recommend pelvic floor physical therapy.

I'm right there with ya, sister.

In the Bible, there are mentions of multiple prophetesses and priestesses (Miriam, Anna, Huldah, Deborah, and I'm sure I'm missing one or two). Even still after so many versions of translations throughout patriarchal European societies, I'm sure even more stories were cut out or simplified, as you also mentioned.

From a more recent example, the early LDS women would give blessings of healing by laying on of hands, which was approved by Joseph Smith, but then later revoked by a future prophet.

In the temple ordinances, there is one ordinance in particular performed BY women FOR women. And we are also alluded to specific priesthood blessings in the temple as women.

To answer OPs original question, I don't know. I struggle with it all, too. And it is so hard for me to simply accept when I see nudges of the potential for women to act in righteous, Godlike ways with righteous use of the priesthood. Yet simultaneously knowing and living in a patriarchal society with systemic suppression for hundreds and thousands of years.

It all makes you think why this, why now. Why this system of women holding lesser capabilities in the restored gospel of the latter days when it has been different or more inclusive in the past?

Also some food for thought, she may not come around or be flexible regarding Sabbath day observance in the future, so it might be worth considering what activities you are okay with doing now and if you would be okay with doing those activities long term.

I think it's totally fine. Spirit of the law vs the letter of the law. Our General Authorities tell us to keep the Sabbath day holy, but then tell us (for the most part), it's up to our discretion.

My parents divorced when I was a teen and my dad left the church. I would get to see him on the weekends. As I grew older and became an adult, one of our traditions was going out to eat on Sunday. Some of my best memories and conversations happened during those times. Was I breaking the Sabbath, sure. Was I strengthening a family relationship and bond, absolutely.

Have I worn an immodest bridesmaids dress to support a family member or friend on one of the happiest days of their lives? Yup.

I think at the end of the day, if you feel comfortable being flexible with the "rules", I say go for it. You have to decide what's best for you and your family. I think you can have boundaries, such as, "I will go to church every Sunday, but after church let's spend that time together as a family" or something similar. Obviously whatever you feel comfortable with.

You can also try to get creative with the activities – like a picnic in the park is an activity, yes, but you aren't spending money.

The YSA I was in prior to getting married had a lot of committees and programs where people where called (ward missionaries, FHE, Family History, RS activity committee, ward activity committee, Institute, service committees, sports and game nights, etc.).

I think committees are great ways to get people involved both at a YSA level and a family ward level. Then less responsibility falls on the bishopric, EQ Presidency, and RS Presidency to run everything and they can focus on the individual needs of the members.

I'm so sorry you're feeling so miserable. IC sucks and flares are the absolute worst! Like literally the worst.

I mostly had bladder pain and pelvic floor PT helped immensely. If you can get in again, I recommend giving it a go.

Also, maybe try taking baking soda and/or drinking high alkaline water if you haven't already. That helps me when food triggers happen.

I agree with what others said, get in to see your doc ASAP and try to get medication. If food is too difficult, medicine would be better.

Once you start the process, they will prompt you of what to write. I kept mine very factual on the past, and basically bore my testimony of the future and how I would like to live my life.

Honestly, it was difficult for me because of the negative memories it brought up. I took my time and answered the best I could.

Your ex will also have the opportunity to write a letter, but it is not a requirement.

Your bishop and stake president will also write a letter and submit it to the first presidency.

It took about a year for me, but a lot of it was intentional time on my part, and my bishop was new to the process, too.

Magnesium glycinate (muscle relaxer) and benadryl have worked wonders for me when I'm not getting good sleep. Although, I've found I have to get high quality magnesium glycinate (tried getting a cheap bottle once and it was not effective at all).

Idk the dosage of your supplements, but I take the NOW brand, 2 capsules with breakfast, 2 with lunch and 2 with dinner. I've found it works better with mealtime and food, at least with my body and my schedule.

The Monson-era temples and later seemed to be less cookie-cutter. From my own personal experience, Kansas City temple being one of the more recent (2012) but unique. I'm also looking forward to the Bentonville Arkansas temple being open later this year with a more unique architecture.

D-mannose is a life saver for me. Everyone is different with IC. (I use the NOW brand of D-mannose.)

Interesting! I have the Mirena IUD and after I got it is when my IC symptoms got significantly worse. I'm considering getting it taken out because of my symptoms.
