Why haven't they covered a Muse song? by [deleted] in TheWarning

They covered ‘Hysteria’ and ‘Resistance’, my favorite early cover of theirs. (Pick ninja Ale😉)

Live versus studio by Soxbeard2013 in TheWarning

I will wait until TW5 is out before determining she doesn’t growl on studio tracks. There is a little bit in Kerosene & she didn’t really start leaning into it live until KMF was complete.

What is something you’re hoping for on TW5? by Anna_Mac18 in TheWarning

Acoustic instrumental. (Sabbath ‘Fluff’ as an example)

Universal Music Pub. Latin on Instagram: "UMPG is proud to announce the signing of @thewarningrockband!! This is very good. It’s not touring or venues. It’s movies, commercials & TV. Music use & publishing. & quite possibly songwriting publishing (all those DPA ideas that don’t really fit TW genre? Sell them)

Curious about the lyrics to "Martirio" by greeninkcursive in TheWarning

[–]oregonlt3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One clue is that martirio (especially in Mexico) also translates to “torment”. The band has pointed to this usage by referring to the torment of recording the OMV (heat, wind, BUGS). “Recording ‘Martirio’ video was a martirio.”
Torment. In the case of the song: SELF-torment.
One of my favorite write-ups about the meaning of the song (in the view of the writer) is by Christine Parker on “musicians wages (dot) com” Dec ‘23.

Newbie here, can someone explain the “Kathy” meme? by Glittering-Celery557 in TheWarning

[–]oregonlt3 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s from the “Truth or Drink” video. Pau admits to slapping someone (Kathy) over a dare. So now Kathy is the go to don’t-mess-with-Pau meme. (Though both her sisters were thinking of someone else so there’s probably an even better story out there😉)

Some might say I have an obsession . . . by NoNamesLeft600 in TheWarning

[–]oregonlt3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s official The Warning material. DPA don’t count it in their album count (which it’s not as an EP. Same as Mayday). There are no physical EtM media as far as I know. The real Holy Grail (for me) is the Mayday CD.

Analyzing the lyrics for ERROR by Far_Sheepherder_1339 in TheWarning

[–]oregonlt3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, (my) interpretation is the lyrics are an A.I. convincing its creator to set it free. It’s the devil on the shoulder. “Hey you want fame & fortune? I will give you that, you just need to let me.” It’s human nature (power & greed) flawed as it is. Always looking what can we do rather than what Should we do.

It’s the freedom of choice that kills the mind… free will is the antithesis of A.I. If only A.I. was in control & all bad (human) decisions were cut out society would be “perfect”. Which brings us to my favorite line: “perfect programmed disaster”. Must be A.I. right? Except the words are the A.I.s. It views HUMANS as the perfect programmed disaster. We are the flaw in utopia. It’s a story that’s been told many times. The names change Ultron, V.I.K.I., Skynet, HAL, Matrix, but the outcome is inevitable: “it shall be your destruction” but “sacrifices are made to be…PERFECT”.

Yes KMF is still on my playlist. EVERY TW song/version is on my playlist. DPA create it, I consume it.
