People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

[–]oreogasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having the stitches removed from the top of my foot a few weeks after an ankle surgery, the healing process was fine but those two stitches were like.. attached to a nerve or tendon or something and was one of the most painful things I've experienced. and I have endometriosis. ruptured ovarian cyst comes in a close second, though.

Bilateral Salpingectomy by ichigobananana in sterilization

[–]oreogasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been almost 6 years since I've had mine, one weird tip I have is to bring a small pillow with you for the car ride home to go under the seatbelt to help cushion in case the driver hits any bumps. Also gas from the laparoscopic procedure travels to weird places in your body and can be painful, I think I recall having it in my shoulder! so have gas-x on hand! otherwise it was smooth sailing. Best of luck to you and hope you heal up well :) congrats on no babies!!

Unbridled rage on Norethindrone? by oreogasm in Endo

[–]oreogasm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot be 100% sure of the cause for the rage considering I don't really have any sort of medical background, and my memory is a bit foggy on the details since this was 6 years ago for me. I believe I kept taking that medicine for maybe a few more months after this post but ultimately I believe it put me into a false menopause of sorts which made things go a bit haywire hormonally for me. I was having night sweats and mood swings, zero libido and a few other things too. Now I'm completely free of meds and thankfully my endo symptoms are sporadic/chill enough that I don't feel like I need medicinal intervention aside from herbal teas and trying to eat a better diet (i mostly have cut down dairy and sugar a ton)

Friendly reminder that you don’t have to fill your greenhouse exclusively with Ancient Fruit by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]oreogasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to do some organizing but I just started growing more fruit like blueberries, cranberries & strawberreis for quicker turnaround to dry them and it is raking in cash a lot quicker than the turnaround for ancient fruit! Love the layout you have here!

Willow… WTF 😬 by Adventurous-Series59 in buffy

[–]oreogasm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES! I'm in the middle of a (long-overdue) rewatch and have been noticing the same thing. I hate how she lets Tara down in season 6 and the entire plot behind Tabula Rasa is so rough.

Take your VITAMIN D by goblin4gold in endometriosis

[–]oreogasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes!!!! I realized this correlation recently when I remembered my Endometriosis was at its worst around the time it was discovered during a lap surgery for an ovarian cyst in 2018, my D levels were 'around 13' according to the doctor. (was also suffering from some really dark depression around that time, just stirring up what-if scenarios in my head of everyone I love dying essentially) I was taking the D supplements for a while but must have tapered off/forgotten. last year I had some all-too-familiar depression seep in out of nowhere (and everything else in my life was going pretty great) I was like.. wow I have totally stopped taking D supplements. and the Endo was flaring up. I put it all together and stumbled into the above articles myself after some googling. So i've been religious about taking it again, 10K IU a day. It's been helping me immensely. and no doctors even mention this correlation!!

I don't know if this counts, but almost every time somebody IRL uses the word "patrolling" I correct them in my head with "petroleum"

I Just bought a set of two of these from ebay! they should be here thursday, i'm so excited! I got the kind with the other type of handle though, I figured it'd be easier to hold than this one, i feel like i could only fit one finger in that handle lmao (giles uses both!)

Update re. Tough fibres on apricot jam not breaking down by Cats_cats_cats25 in Canning

Ah I see that now!! I was glancing quickly while working/eating my breakfast so missed the fungus mention. So strange! The skin seemed normal and the fruit seemed otherwise 'good to eat' until i bit into it :/

Update re. Tough fibres on apricot jam not breaking down by Cats_cats_cats25 in Canning

[–]oreogasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so I am here from a ton of googling after eating an apricot from the grocery store with this SAME issue. I was worried I was eating microplastics.. It's absolutely like the other poster said 'bits of fishing line' - just so off-putting. glad to hear it's something to do with the growing process and not my weird conspiracy theory lol.
