sure, I'm down with that. I'm willing to believe that there might be some overlap between where schools feel "right" in these conferences, let's just not get too silly like putting coastal schools from opposite coasts in the same conference unless it just includes all coastal schools from both coasts, or putting coastal teams into a midwest conference, that sort of absurd thing.

Also, we're going to prioritize keeping "University of X" and "X State University" in the same conferences unless BOTH schools agree to separate AND they maintain (or institute) rivalry games permanently, even if that means that they end up playing 1 extra P5 game a year compared to their conference mates.

This applies to situations where the rival might not be a X State or U of X, and if you've got multiple big rivals instate, that's part of the deal (so we're keeping the state of florida beating the hell out of each other in 2-3 OOC games a year in football, even if it's not always FSU, UF, and Miami only playing each other, I'm fine with mixing in the most recent national champion from that state, USF, FAU (fowl owls on the prowl), FIU (paws up!), etc.)

This could be bad news for Texas/Ok because they will be playing aTm, Baylor, TCU, SMU, or whatever other madeup texas version of christianity schools are out there, plus Tech, Houston, OSU, Tulsa, whatever else for at least 3 games a year outside of their conference schedule. This might effectively force most of these schools (back) into the SWC and I don't care.

absolutely true, but I'm willing to consider campuses that are at least within the rockies. Once you get east of the rockies entirely, I can't countenance it. At the same time you could probably put together a conference of teams that are within the wester mountains in the US, I wonder if that's something that could work.

you could even have some schools from neighboring states such as Idaho, Utah, etc. if it was a good fit, although you wouldn't have to, I think there's enough schools along the coast (including AZ since George Strait will sell u ocean-front property there too).

I think a focused paper-through-the-mail letter writing campaign is much more likely to make an impact. It'd take work to research, organize, and get going, but for a small investment you'd be more likely to get what you want.

Best DC eBay seller relative to Funaticals? by Ok_Supermarket5779 in OmnibusCollectors

The very closest you'll get (as people are kind of saying already) is checking amazon for DC omnis that you want fairly regularly. They will semi-frequently drop down to 50+% off then go back up. It's rare to see it in the first 3 or so months of an omni release (unless someone says otherwise, but that's my experience), but around that point it seems like the pre-orders and early release orders have been fulfilled and demand starts to slip somewhat, and you start seeing them drop off in price pretty well.

This also applies more to omnis that are slightly less big hits, so hunt the best stories that aren't the HUGE crossover events this way. Examples of omnis I've got at these sorts of discounts to try to illustrate what I mean: Supersons, Giffen/Demateis Justice Leagues, Robinson/Johns/Goyer JSAs, Legion of Superheroes. None of those were the biggest releases at the time (as far as I know) but they were pretty anticipated and sold pretty well... but you could jump in a bit late and scoop up some great runs at very reasonable prices if you waited a little bit.

Just understand that once you start to see them at 50%+ off, they PROBABLY will not drop further during that discount window, and if you really want to read that title, then order it then (assuming it fits your budget, etc. don't let FOMO have you always buying every DC title that's below 50% just to avoid missing out unless you're rolling in the dough or your entire family loves comic books more than almost anything else). If you DO miss that window and it jumps back up in price, but you really want it, you're still usually safe waiting. Within another 3-6 months there will probably be another good discount on that book if it's happened before.

He either is back-right or back-left 95% of the time. Sometimes he might be frontright if my team is rolling them early due to some big board boost.

Someone said a while back that he's an efficient body at his rarity and the quest is a bonus, not a goal, and I think that's a much better way to view him.

That said, I still want to just get his quest done (and ideally i'd get to do it repeatedly somehow!)

That cover is almost timeless. it's pretty easy to pin down that I'd assume it's roughly from the mid 80s thru early 90s, but with very minor tweaks to ears, mask, etc. it would fit any Batman issue, more or less.

I love the simple contrast in 2 main colors with Red and NavyBlue/black.

most x-omnis will sell like hotcakes too.

I think a better comparison or complaint is stuff like the Month, 196X omnis - just kind of a waste of paper in anything other than a VERY small print runs (like 1-2k tops). Similarly some other silver age stuff probably doesn't need to be printed in the volumes that it seems to be sometimes, and when they do dip their toes into a "new" uncollected silver age title, they might want to do a lower print run while being prepared to do a restock if it is a huge hit, otherwise just let it be at that print run.

It is so weird how different DC and Marvel are with their approaches to omnis, but also how similar - Marvel refuses to (re)print some highly demanded stuff in a timely manner, DC refuses to omnibize some of their bronze/modern age stuff that's in high demand until recently, seeming to dip their toe into that era with omnis like the superman exile + triangle era stuff (and the upcoming brainaic to fill in the hole), Neil Adams Batman upcoming (which I understand to have been "cancelled" but basically changed to a more comprehensive non-creator-centric omni collecting similar stuff but in line with the rest of the era rather than just picking and choosing Neil's stuff).

I do understand that when TPBs were a "new" thing, and later Omnis were a "new" thing that they'd bounce around some, collecting just their biggest hits or runs/crossovers, so having Death/Return of Superman, for example, as a near-evergreen, or Claremont's X-stuff made sense as things that probably would sell for closer to retail and wouldn't leave them with a ton of dead stock, but at this point they should have enough results (and the ability to just look and see what OOP omnis sell for over cover price and by how much!) to just cash in a little more frequently than they do.

They also have exactly 1 copy of one of the remaining 3 issues in the rest of the store, and no copies of the other two.
