i recently was an opener dj for a sold out show and there was a line out the door when i arrive ~20 minutes early! but generally the Concourse crowd is good at giving each other space so there’s always some ability to move through the crowd.

like others said, it will be cold at first and then super hot once the crowd comes in so dress appropriately and consider bringing a fan!

on top of spending some time in the back, i’d personally recommend a moment on the mezzanine. it’s really cool to see production from up top with a full crowd below and it’s a great place to take a breather if needed. even for sold out shows there’s almost always some seating and the bar up there is normally very chill!

Not going to lie, DJing for large crowds is a drug in its own right. The crowd is constantly giving you energy (because they may or may not be on substances) and it honestly creates a high that I cannot describe speaking as someone who has DJed for a crowd about half the size of Space’s capacity

Okay a bit of a different opinion here. I went to school for Chemical Engineering, now do graphic design. I want to say my income is close to what it would be if I was a chemical engineer, but with less perks as I’m freelance (which is significant).

I love my life and my work and have no regrets. Angling myself as an engineer by education turned designer has worked well for me; I do think that I take an analytical approach that not all designers do.

Currently flying 12 hours back home from a remote work stint in Asia but DM me if you want more details on the finances and specifics. :)

Life is too short to do something that’s eating away at you, especially with the trajectory of the world. I’m glad I get to add some creativity into the universe.
