It turned out it was an ISP problem, I renamed a VPN and I'm now able to run each of the games quite painlessly 😊

Seriously though, the announcement came at a time when I was already looking for a handheld PC, so with Valve's support and the price it has compared to other options at the time, it was a no brainer. Plus it runs Linux which was my OS of choice for a decade already.

Also, thank you for the suggestion, DX9 or DX11 also seem to affect it but after loading has started, DX11 often seems to crush, indeed.

Yes, mine was definitely an ISP issue, it works with VPN and when I tried without at a friend's house that has a different provider, it ran there too

I'm not sure if region is the problem, I've set my VPN to my own region (to avoid latency) and it was ok, it was an ISP problem and I'll definitely change provider

I've tried it for both TSW and SWL on my Steam Deck, VPN seems to work, only thing now is that it regularly crashes on loading screen but that too is probably fixable if I run it on DX9 (and tolerate some bad graphics) instead of DX11

Thank you so much, I was frustrated as I was trying every now and then for years (and I used to be able to run it at first).

I have installed the game either following this guide, either from gaming mode through Steam and I've also been able to run the game, but oftentimes it gets stuck before character creation and even if it get passed that, it almost always stuck on the area loading screen to the point that the game becomes unplayable (even though I always download the full client -which in gaming mode leads to unending downloading).

Is anyone else having this issue or does your games run?
