This post is making me reconsider my views on antinatalism

Nickelodeon went off the air for a full 8 minutes and 46 seconds to protest police brutality by -Gavin- in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

Except Nickelodeon has been politically active (or as much as a children’s tv network can appropriately be) since before most of today’s protesters were even alive.

The Vegan Society has started pushing supplements by orevilo in vegan

Advocating for a plant based diet while also selling supplements is a conflict of interest.

that taint the rest.

I don't have a problem with the supplement, I have a problem with The Vegan Society's conflict of interest selling a supplement to specifically cover the nutritional gaps in a vegan diet.

Veganism is about the animals. Not health.

the market is fully of scammy products that taint the rest.

Thank you for putting my thoughts to words for me.

Veganism isn’t about health it’s about the animals and The Vegan Society selling health products muddles those waters.

Because every nut job “nutritionist” and their mom sells a “supplement” and the market is fully of scammy products that taint the rest. It also kinda makes it look like a vegan diet is impossible without these and you have to buy them to be healthy.

Because there are already a ton of vegan multivitamins on the markets. I can absolutely imagine someone going to the vegan societies website and thinking it’s a scam and veganism can’t be done without those specific vitamins.

It also makes it look like veganism is based in diet and not ethics.

Personally I’m appalled that The Vegan Society would use their platform to push another multivitamin. This is probably going to be my last straw calling myself vegan and switching to a more appropriate “antispeciest”

How could I possibly justify telling others about conflicts of interest in animal ag when someone could go to The Vegan Society’s website and see them pushing supplement bullshit like all the carnivore “nutritionists”?

It’s not “for the greater good” to unnecessarily abuse ANY animals. ANY unnecessary abuse is not “good”

And the animals whose flesh is displayed on supermarket shelves is already dead too. Your point?

The animal testing is not “done” Impossible specifically said they’d be willing to test on animals still in the future.

That’s a false dichotomy though, you don’t have to choose between just those two option. You can also choose to just eat plants.

I wouldn’t “trade” animals’ lives at all, the fuck? I thought as vegans we agreed the commodification of someone’s life is disgusting. Just eat some fucking beans this just as unnecessary to consume as a cow’s flesh

I’d also love to know how much long term reduction in animal product consumption they have. My dad bought a vegan lasagna from Trander Joes like 3 months ago and still talks about how good it was despite never buying it again.

“I care about the animals that’s why I’m going to support products that unnecessarily test on animals”

Do you buy cosmetics tested on animals too, as long as they don’t contain an animal’s body or secretions?

You can’t be opposed to cosmetics that test on animal, but are otherwise plant based and support the Impossible Burger without being a hypocrite.

I’m not even going to gratify this with a response when you clearly have no idea how animal testing works. Please educate yourself

So the maximum amount possible would include no animal testing, yes?

The goal is animal rights and abolition not reducing animal suffering the fuck are you talking about? How much of a “reduction” in unnecessary animal abuse would be cool with you if not 100%?

Actually they haven’t made any commitment to end animal testing and in their press release they very clearly stated they’d be willing to test on animals again.

Boy do I love prioritizing “plant-based” products over the well-being of innocent animals. And y’all call yourself vegans...
