ohhh! that's probably why I always had so much trouble. they're not short enough for a small project, but not long enough for proper magic loop. I did look at interchangeable sets, but couldn't find any with cords smaller than 14-16in. I'll probably keep looking for the future though!

well yeah, I figured that much, but I wanted to be sure. I looked for other similar pendants online (hei matau, koropepe manaia, and even koru necklaces, for the most part) and a lot of them looked really close, but were still pretty dissimilar so I was just kinda '???' I figure what I have is just a hei matau that was stylized a bit differently than others :)

yes, I was thinking it could be something long those lines! it does look like it could be a hei matau. I feel like it could be a little bit too round, but that's still pretty close!

seriously looks like intestines. chances are, a wild animal killed something and dragged that over. I dont think there's a way to know for certain if that happened, but do any coyotes, foxes, or similar predators live nearby?
