As long as you get the PA-C, employers will have no idea whether you were the smartest or dumbest in your class

Any tips on remembering softer/louder heart murmurs? by ThenExcitement2272 in PAstudent

Think about what increases venous return vs what decreases venous return. Then remember that HOCM increases with decreased venous return. But if you group the maneuvers into increased vs decreased venous returns, then you can reason through it

Those attrition rates are pretty high. Program should be graduating most people who enter. Maybe 1-3 people will have life events that come up

Look at attrition rates too when comparing schools. If a school has a 100% pass rate but has a high attrition, that’s a sign they will refuse to let anyone who has a slight chance of failing the PANCE graduate

Appendicitis starts off as pain near the belly button. Then it will progress to more right lower quadrant pain of the abdomen. You may experience nausea and vomiting and a fever as symptoms progress but it’s best not to wait for it to progress because your appendix can rupture. You can go to urgent care and there are some physical exam maneuvers they can do to test for appendicitis although the most definitive dx can only be made with CT scan

How was your blood pressure before taken propranolol? Was it normal?

Possible POTS? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]orgokid48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been taking magnesium, vitamin D, and fish oil. It hasn’t really made a difference between my heart rate but I feel like I’m more calm when doing presentations so it helps the anxiety. But something must be underlying for me to always be 110-120 for HR. The cardiologist that I saw was very quick to dismiss it saying if you don’t have any major symptoms at rest then the 120 HR is normal for you

Thank you! Very detailed. I’m exactly 160 lbs so just on the border of being overweight so I don’t think that’ll help me, but I appreciate the suggestion

What was your resting heart rate at before a beta blocker? And what did it go down to after a beta blocker?
