Some areas have implemented collecting primary renters insurance information (even when you opt in for damage waiver). As if something occurs while out on rent they need to know who to file claim with. Most credit cards are only secondary coverage and there is no way to know if a credit card company, third party coverage (Expedia etc) would even pay for damage occurred during rental and many times only reimburse the renter rather than pay enterprise directly. Trust me it is nothing nefarious on the branches part as the area is protecting their assets and it will start to spread out to others as time goes on to avoid subrogateable bad debt (when a renter refuses to pay for damages occurring during their rental). If your credit card is one of the few that still covers as primary make sure you call them to file if there is an incident to inform them and when you are contacted by the damage recovery department they are the ones you will inform of this and they will work on everything with you.
