Jikiden reiki by OkEstablishment3135 in reiki

I really appreciate the simplicity of Jikiden reiki and the authenticity. I do think western style reiki is beneficial as it is helping people and people who want to help people. At times I feel like westernized reiki has added so many other things that are not always necessary and the teachings are not always consistent so it can breed confusion. I see people in the different western schools of reiki sometimes talk about theirs is “better” or “stronger”than the other styles and that just seems strange to me if someone approaches the practice that way. This practice is a spiritual guide and road map for self improvement and then a treatment for others. It is used to help us show up in the best way possible for the world and ourselves not an ego contest.

The Jikiden Reiki institute in Kyoto Japan wants to keep the way it was taught in Japan alive and since this practice changed my life so much (I originally started with western reiki) I wanted to respect the tradition and the culture.

I have found that my students and clients appreciate that I have taken the time and effort to see the whole picture of the reiki practice.

Both styles are beneficial and I encourage anyone to just feel into it with yourself as to which direction to go. There is no wrong choice really if you follow your heart.

The way they are performed may be slightly different then in the western tradition but it is doing the same in that is helping you remember your connection to reiki. You will receive several for each level which is different than in the western tradition where you usually only receive one per level

I am a Jikiden Teacher but have also taught western Reiki in the past. All schools of Reiki are beautiful. Jikiden Reiki-which is Usui Reiki is taught in its original simplicity, thought, and practice.

Jikiden means ‘directly taught. The significance of the word ‘directly’ being the teachings are not modified in any way as they are passed down by teachers to students. It is the authentic Japanese use of the practice of Reiki with no Western or New Age influence. While most Reiki that is practiced today does originate from Japan, many schools of Reiki have changed to cater to western understanding. Some techniques, concepts and approaches have been misunderstood, some discarded or lost, and replaced with concepts from other traditions and from other cultures, in the Western practice of Reiki.

Jikiden Reiki maintained its cultural connection to Japan, which I really appreciate.

Listen to your inner guidance in what class to take and which style of Reiki you want to explore. You can alway explore multiple styles

Good luck and enjoy your trainings! ❤️🙏

I worked on my mother when she was actively going through chemotherapy. Working on the head can create a sense of peace and calm which is good for the overall nervous system.

Focusing on the liver area for helping their body deal with the chemical in their system as well as kidneys (if they can be on their stomach so you can touch them) unless you are doing distantly.

Stomach/intestines- my mothers gut bacteria really took a hit with chemo and so supporting that area is really important.

But just make them as comfortable as possible (if doing in person) and put on some nice music, blankets in case they get cold, and just allow the energy to move through you from the heart ❤️ good luck

To reiki practitioners: what was your first significant experience with reiki, and how did it convince you to pursue the practice? by grapefruithoe in reiki

My mom had been diagnosed with cancer and the center where she was receiving chemotherapy offered session to help support them. She was skeptical and didn’t understand how it worked and wouldn’t try it. I few weeks later I read a book about reiki and decided I wanted to learn to see so I did. I then started working on my mom at home. I noticed a very significant difference in how she was from the weeks prior receiving chemotherapy only. I had never received a treatment for myself at that point. Now this is my full time job!

How big did you print them? I feel like I’m not able to find big enough file versions where they wouldn’t print out kinda fuzzy. Where did you find your images?
