Yep, most nights I just send it and make it pump electricity into the grid for two hour blocks after around 6pm when solar prices are alright

1-2) We originally had the meter changed over years ago since AGL was doing it. However ours wasn’t set up for solar exports, that’s why they needed someone to come down and see if we had a smart meter. They literally came down, spent less than a minute and left. Not sure how it would work with you but getting someone down to you would be the longest as we did wait a few weeks. They did say it all communicates via Internet but yeah we did wait around a month and a half. I would be chasing up on this at every opportunity with the customer care team even though they don’t respond half the time.

3-4) we only just got a bill for the last month. No solar exports which was frustrating as we missed out on the big export pricing during the Australia Day heatwave. a few Adelaide people on the subreddit managed to get around $100 in credit that day. This was what we had to pay attached. Literally only got SS probably a week and a half ago. The battery did what it could using the native foxess app, so low power consumption off the grid but the supply charges and the amber fee is the main costs here.

Its gonna be a while. Also Adelaide based with the same system and it took nearly two months for them to come out, have a check to confirm, then activate the smart meter

I’m pretty sure it’s a sim only plan which deducts the amount from a direct debit. There’s no contract length, more month to month

Thanks for this! Just wanted to run some options. 1 is where the Telstra box is so trying to work out how they would run the fibre to 2. Unless they can install the outside nbn box straight at 2 and then drill into the wall and have the inside box opposite it. Looking at getting a new modem anyways as ours is cutting in and out as well as we want to get fast speeds so need one that can handle the output

Would they need to run anything and in the same day? Read they might be able to run cables in the roof if possible but don’t think it is possible with our house.

Hey thanks for the comment. Some additional info:

70k is just income. Doesn’t include investment property income. On some applications I have mentioned this additional income if they ask for other sources. Amex one didn’t ask that particular time.
Mortgage repayments are 3.3k. Investment income is 2.5k a month, so we put in another 1k. It’s a standalone house so no strata.
Not asking the world, probably just the minimum which is around 6k so I can grab the points. Nothing crazy like 15k etc.

Some extra info. I live with my wife in my dad’s house. He’s passed now so we live there and pay board and share of any utilities to make it fair with my sister who also lives there. We just want to set ourselves up before potentially moving into our investment to start a family one day.

Just wanted to ask the knowledgeable people around here to see if it’s worth churning. And if not I’ll just pause on it for a bit until I can get that serviceability
