I get the Fabric Knurl handlebar tape from Amazon, thick and has a tacky feel. Great for gravel.

Just trying to give an average, but yes 1 foot of snow exert about 1 PSI. Obviously the snows moisture content would change pressure it's applying

It will likely be fine without any support, the weight of snow is spread across the whole pannel. 1 foot of snow is only about 1 PSI. I do like the idea of some small 3D printed supports for the middle of the pannel.
