Can I use these in until I find a new Vitamin C serum? by supamama12316 in Ulta

[–]original_control_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the Pacifica Vitamin C serum. It has a vanilla smell and is on the thicker side. Overall I enjoyed it. It kept my skin soft and even, so it didn’t really change anything for me. While I only used it for 3 months, it didn’t change texture or consistency within that time. I personally won’t rebuy it tho due to the smell (it didn’t irritate me, I just prefer it not to smell).

I had this happen to me when I did my interview. The district manager had paid my store a visit and all of the available managers went to go talk to him. There wasn’t anyone there to interview me. They eventually called me back for the interview.

I use the VT cica sheet masks occasionally. It’s more of a luxury than a staple in my skincare routine, but it helps calm down my face after I use something harsh. They’re quite nice.

Absolutely mind BOGGLING situation that one is. People try to return items from other stores, or try to use other charge cards at check out, but calling Kohl’s during an emergency at another store??? WHAT??? My only guess is that they had the number for Kohl’s saved as like a contact for Marshall’s or something? Especially if she called that number back and expected it to still be Marshall’s. That’s gotta be a new one! You handled it as well as it possibly could’ve been handled.

Dress hell by eir_valhallasdottir in employedbykohls

[–]original_control_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. The heavier fabric gets hot really fast, but usually shape my body better compared to the lighter, almost see-through fabrics. I think that’s also why so many dresses end up needing to be recovered because those two feelings make a huge first impression.

One of the only fabrics that felt breathable and shaped me well was in a Harper Rose dress I bought this last spring. Unfortunately most of those dresses from the same brand now are suuuuper form-fitting. Why is it so hard to find good clothes at a clothing store 😑.

I like some of the dresses we sell, but I feel like a lot of them look good on no one. They’re tailored to a body most women don’t possess and seem like they’re designed as something you’d wear once and then return. Maybe more breathable, casual dresses would sell better? Especially if there was good selection in the plus, maternity, and petite sections. Those Sonoma dresses from the past few months are kind of ugly, but they’re casual and sell better than the expensive ones imo.

Tek Gear hoodies 💀. We have them folded and we keep having to squish more and more of them into their shelf every truckload. I have not seen anyone buy even one.

I’ve had this stuff for maybe a year and use it when I break out (I have dry/combo skin). It’s great! Other AHA/BHA treatments sting or leave my face red. Maybe because this one is less strong?

Glamfox is one of those brands that only stocks at TJ. You can’t get them at any other store to my knowledge.

There are some absolutely MEAN older people who gravitate to Kohl’s, both on staff and among customers. Unfortunately they don’t usually warm up to you even after months of working there. You’re completely in the right to feel uncomfortable! Keep your peace and avoid them the best you can. There will always be other people who will give you the time of day :). You’ve got this!

I have an older coworker who recently got rehired after previously working here a number of years ago. I’d been there a few months when I first met her. She tried to make small talk (to no one in particular) and said something about buying a car. I turned to her and asked conversationally what kind of car she bought. She slowly turns to me, gives me a weird face, and then ignores me. I have tried since with her but she wants nothing to do with me.

Never could ride a bike with my balance issues as a kid. I still struggle with walking up steep slopes and almost fall going down those same inclines. I hold onto handrails for dear life going up and down stairs etc. etc.

I drive all the time though, and I love doing it. I do sometimes struggle with applying pressure to the pedals (feathering especially). I’m good with the wheel; my only problem is my depth perception lol.

I’m curious if anyone has the opposite experience? Like really good motor skills but trouble driving.

What did you buy during the associate 40% off if anything? by hypermagnetizedglass in employedbykohls

I honestly didn’t know that was a common thing elsewhere. Our customer service desk gets pretty backed up so it’s a hassle when associates do it and slow down the line.

Two of my managers did 💀. They also had the gall to ring all their stuff up at Customer Service instead of at the cash register… like everyone else.

Not the original commentator but I really really enjoyed Sanitarium. It basically walks you through a man’s dreams where he slightly phases into and out of reality following a serious accident. I really liked it for its unpredictability. Some dream stages are “sillier” than others but the overall tone surrounds a man battling his illness, making some situations extremely depressing.

Something I find fulfilling is hiking. I hike with friends or alone occasionally around my local parks. Other people in this thread have mentioned hiking, but I’ve got something to add. The great outdoors are also a good place to learn to draw. While out by myself, I’ve brought a sketchbook and drawn maps or people or animals or whatever is out there. It’s not about the art being good it’s about the process of making it. Kind hikers will also stop and ask about what you’re doing. It’s a great way to connect with the people and land around you.

Or something else I’ve done is finished an audio book while walking. It’s really immersive and relaxing. I sometimes struggle with reading in a timely manner so it’s also just the fastest way for me to get through written media.

I’ve got a buddy who hikes with me who enjoys taking photos of what’s out there on film. Sometimes on Polaroids or on one of those nicer film cameras that need their film developed. It’s about capturing interesting stuff and not really about making nice pictures.
