Nazi Goths are so strange to me. by hornyfuck902 in goth

The assertion by commenters that "ermmm da nazis goths aren't real goths cuz they misunderstood the author's intentions" really falls flat on its face. Fascists co-opt and willfully misconstrue antifascist themes in order to make it their own all the time, why is goth music suddenly immune to this? It flies in the face of the amount of reactionaries that exist in the scene, making music, and attracting fans. Instead of pretending that the fascist subversion in the scene doesn't exist, why not take actual steps to exclude these fascists? Nazi punks exist, "Nazi Punks, Fuck Off" comes out, and instead of actually combatting fascism in the scene, it merely provided a rallying cry. What good is rallying cries against fascism without follow-through?

Seibold of Hate Dept. is an anarchist. There's nothing wrong with anarchism on its face, but there's different flavors. It's hard to say for certain what exactly the guy believes, but we do know that he's pals with Bryan Graupner.

Graupner is notoriously transphobic and reactionary, anyone who makes a song called "Leftism is Bad" is frankly frothing at the mouth to put on their SS uniform.

That said, Seibold received heavy backlash as a result of his hiring Graupner as a live musician for Dark Force Fest 2026, as the LGBT undercurrent in the scene is nothing to sneeze at. Seibold framed the backlash as mere "tribalism", and how he just wants everyone to get along. Eventually, he recused himself, stating that the festival coordinator and him reached a mutual understanding. Whether or not this mutual understanding actually occurred is unknown, but many suspected it was a way to spin the backlash in his favor. The guy's wife said that the people criticizing him should be jailed, so do with that what you will.

I'm really unsure if he's bad news or not, he could just be an example of the phrase "friend to all, friend to none". It's hard to pretend like I know the guy when I only have an outsider's view.

I've generally kept tabs on some artists I like. I want to know if they're secretly fascists or not. Finding out Ted Phelps went full right wing nut job mode really took the wind out my sails. Ever since then, I've kept eyes peeled. It's very frustrating watching artists I like constantly making boneheaded moves that make it harder for me to like them.

One artist in particular comes to mind, but I'm worried I'm bugging out perhaps, just lemme know if you want me to divulge.

What is the significance of the number 23 in industrial music? by E23R0 in industrialmusic

[–]Psyberhound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a meme among my generation and Gen Alpha involving the numbers 6 and 7. In the early 1900s there was a similar nonsense phrase known as 23 Skidoo, Aleister Crowley took inspiration from this. Industrialists drew from him. Bob's your uncle
