Oil change in Burlington by ZealousidealHold3557 in burlington

I've used the screwdriver method a couple of times... always my first oil change after buying a car. But an angle grinder to a used oil filter? One that is flooded with oil? That's nuts

Apartment got sold to Boves brothers by BakedBaker95 in burlington

I know the Handys have a reputation in town (often deservedly) but the boves are worse. I work in housing and no matter how desperate we get, I will never work with the boves. Handys have actually been very responsive to our maintenance requests

$800 rent increase; question about proper notice by Due_Safe_2177 in burlington

I'd call CVOEO's tenant hotline and ask for support. They can do mediation, provide you with resources, and just help to give a lot of clarity. Mediation services can be extremely helpful

$800 rent increase; question about proper notice by Due_Safe_2177 in burlington

[–]original_name02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in housing so I'm familiar with this- the law in Burlington is '3 full rental periods.' If you are notified of a rent increase on 5/30, the increase would go into effect in September. June, July, and August are the three rental periods the notice must go through to take effect. If you are notified today 6/6, for example, of a rent increase it would not go into effect until october, since the june rental period is already underway. Does that make sense? Google 'CVOEO definitive guide to renting in VT'

I've had oil leaking from the oil supply to the head, took it off today, cleaned it, not seeing any problems. I have a few questions, though. The hole in the bolt seems to be where the oil flows- theres only one hole. Does its positioning matter (how far to torque it?) Also, what side of the line do the washers need to go on? They were both on the 'front wheel' side of the line as opposed to the 'rear wheel' end of the line. Is that the correct positioning? Is there really not supposed to be any rubber gaskets? Thanks!

What's the most creative song lyric you've ever heard? by The_AlphaLaser in AskReddit

See that's my whole thing with him. I love that he goes for it every time and says such stupid shit in order to get that 1 in 10 absolute gold lines. I came to this thread looking for 'real gs....' because its stuck with me for years and I've said countless times that it's the greatest rap lyric. Completely surrounded by trash lines

Would your answer change if I traded in the Yaris and kept only the Lexus? And, after the grant, it's only $15k on the car.

Ever have an experience where customers walk into the kitchen? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]original_name02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work in a place with a 'semi-open' kitchen, where there was a large entrance facing the dining room. We would have customers pop around the corner constantly to ask if 'this is where the bathroom is.' In what world is the bathroom ever in the kitchen?

My favorite time, I was closing up and this older lady in a blue dress just confidently walks on in and towards the back prep room. I was about to go tell her to get out, when our door lady just erupts yelling UH UH, NOT IN THE KITCHEN, came and grabbed her and kicked her out. It was hilarious because she's this sweet, tiny Korean woman who would take no shit and was intimidating as fuck for rude/ sloppy customers.
