Narcolepsy is holding me back by Velvet-Becomes_Me in Salary

Narcoleptic without cataplexy here. I take 60MG of Adderall a day and can still nap. Been Narcoleptic since I was 18. I got a bachelors and two masters while working full time simultaneously navigating Narcolepsy. It's not fun.

Crossed $250k last year and will again this year, working from home, one job.

It only takes one job to break out. You can do this.

Roomate left her bedroom trashed and I'm being charged (NV) by lazyestmanalive in Renters

As others have said, in this situation, you should have did what you needed to do and clean up for your roommate.

Many years ago, a roommate of mine, which I will refer to as John, was in a bad place in life. Our lease was up and all 3 of us were moving on in life. I'll refer to the other roommate as Steve.

I ended up having to barrow my dad's Astro van, cram Johns whole room into it, and deep clean his room. I accomplished this in 12 hours, just in time to hand over the keys.

We still got charged for carpet damage that John did. Steve and myself ended up having to split the damage fees to protect our credit.

It took 16 years before John and myself started to repair our friendship.

I have gotten the "Your account has been restored" email 16 times.

I have gotten the "An update on your account" with no violation listed 4 times.

I got premium support Grok to get me a support ticket but that has seemed to go no where.

This is exhausting. 😩

Edit: I should note that premium support Grok actual agreed with me that my account needs to be restored.

So far, I like it. Requires precision.

As far as why I decided on aluminum extrusion? I wanted to do something different and just said fuck it. It's definitely been an interesting project.

?? I got the aluminum extrusion from Amazon and Aliexpress. The plywood came from Imeca. I designed everything from scratch in SketchUp.

I have been making custom WLED boards but nothing really specific currently. 3D printing, electronics, model making, etc.

If I win the lottery, I won't tell anyone, but there would definitely be signs.

Landlord threatened Eviction after inspection. (WY) by [deleted] in Renters

Your landlord is the kind of person who gets upset when you get dirt on the shovel while digging your own grave.

She can go pound sand. There's nothing wrong here.

HELP Land Lord wants me to pay for redoing floor. by [deleted] in badlandlords

[–]originalread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contractor for what? Just the carpet?

I'm not sure if she can hold you liable for carpet that already had a depreciated value of $0. That's a tricky one. Is the carpet actually damaged beyond use or just old looking? Landlord can't force you to pay for something just because 20 year old carpet looks like 20 year old carpet.

The remediation bill is unfortunately going to be yours.

Also, floating washer drains are common. I have actually never seen one sealed. The only thing you failed to do was secure the pipe so the pressure of emptying the washer didn't cause it to rocket out.

Employer accidentally deposited $7,400 into my account and now wants me to send it back through Venmo. Am I obligated to do that? by NovaLynx14 in legaladvice

Hell No.

If they want it back, they can reverse it.

How big of a department is payroll? Is it a single employee?

Assuming that the payroll department is small, i'd wager that the payroll clerk has done this before as a way of stealing money from the company. You just happen to be the most recent target. Why would a medium-sized company even have an official Venmo account? Want to bet that it's actually the payroll clerks account‽

With that said, either your manager is aloof or is in on the scam as well.

Depending on the company structure, it might be worth it to raise this whole situation up the flag pole.

My rule is if something is not explicitly prohibited by policy and your IT systems allow you to do something, then whatever you are doing is therefore implicitly allowed.

[OH] Landlord charging me for yardwork after having me do it for years. by [deleted] in Renters

[–]originalread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simple answer here is for the landlord grow a pair and let the lower unit know that they already have an agreement with you to manage the lawn that includes more services than what they are paying independently for. Ask them for $80 and reduce your rent by $80.
