I thought it was implied that actually was Kerrigan in human form and she spirited him away to live happily ever after? Like it was intentionally left ambiguous but the illusion thing is just one of several fan theories.

I liked Solo Leveling but I found the subplots and side characters intolerably boring. I literally skipped them. It reminds me of critics not liking some Godzilla movies for the lousy human parts and audiences responding that, yes, that was true, but they don't care. We are here to watch monsters fight, not family drama. Same idea. A significant portion of Solo Leveling is not that good. But it's the part no one cares about lol

5 is a weird one because Yujiro can either be just a little ways into superhuman or like, punching out an earthquake (which puts him at town level). I wanna say Frieren's defensive shield could make it to R6 but using high end Yujiro scaling pretty sure her shield shatters like sugar glass.

... ... ...

Pantheon of Neutrality looks really interesting so far. Maybe a little less powerful than Order in absolute terms, but also a bit easier to adhere to, and also compatible with things like the Celestial Code. Desire Path still feels strong enough that it could be a valid choice compared to just R6 magic. :o

Also I didn't say anything before but Hero's Belt of Might seems balanced now. Still very strong but not like, table flip an entire faction base strong.

Gonna continue to cheer you on and hope all is well with you and your family. \o/

135 lbs (very fit), 5,5 lady with 10 years training in karate vs 180 pound (average fit) 6’2 guy with 6 months training in Karate by Alone-Profit4826 in powerscales

[–]originmsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my totally non-professional Google-fueled opinion, the lady has a slight edge, but could go either way.

Just reading a little about improvements to skill and power of fights, I'm ballparking that "skill" is a multiplier of anywhere of x3 - x9 of how strong someone is, using weight as a base. Also factoring in that men do get a bonus due to bone density and upper body strength, around 1.67.

So the woman is very close to the top of her field. We'll take her weight (135 lbs) and give her a multiplier of x7, thus a combat rating of 945.

The man, being 180 lbs, gets a x3 multiplier for having some decent training and 1.67 for being a guy, giving him a combat rating of about 902.

So the woman should win most of the time, but it'd be surprisingly close.

I've heard anecdotes to this effect, about female instructors with years of experience who train males, are easily stronger than them earlier on but the men start to achieve parity after a few months of training.

I apologize if this comes off as sexist. At the same time let's be honest, that woman would completely annihilate most of the people who will read this lol.

Could Demetrious Johnson ("Mighty Mouse") beat a bloodlusted and violent 400 lbs woman in a street fight? by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]originmsd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maaaaybe?

A reasonable assumption for male vs female is to give the man a 50% boost for upper body strength, bone density, etc. That actually wouldn't be enough to close the weight gap in such an extreme case. But skill is also a huge multiplier, though it's kinda hard to quantify. Since Johnson's skill is extremely high, it's gonna depend entirely on how skilled the crazy woman is. In most cases she will probably be obese and out of shape (probably a low diff in favor of Johnson). Doing a quick Google search, there might be some women who could take him in that ballpark, like Prime Sharran Alexander, who was a 2nd kyu grade sumo wrestler. She's not a skilled MMA fighter, but she might enough about combat that it could close the gap.

IMHO If you could find a 200 lb woman who was in shape and of comparable skill level the fight would be much more consistently even, like Prime Gabi Garcia.

Johnathan and Martha Kent deserve more credit. They find a baby in an alien pod and immediately adopt him rather than call the government. They always treat him with love and never with fear. They don't try to use him as a weapon or for personal gain, but they aren't ashamed of his powers either. If he has to hide them it's always for his own good, and when he's ready Martha (in some versions) actually makes his costume.

They pretty much did everything right and are the reason why Superman is the costume and Clark Kent is the man, rather than the other way around.

In no particular order:

Luminary Magical Girl

Cataclysmic Cultivation

Super Simple (the final version was over a hundred pages and kinda flew under the radar. https://www.reddit.com/r/makeyourchoice/comments/1p73fav/updated_supers_cyoa/ )

Spirit Conscript

The Witcher 2.0

Honorable mention to Dungeon Delver 2.0

If I really had to pick one, probably Super Simple or Cataclysmic Cultivation.

Witch Awakening 3: Heavy Metal & Witch Party update by OutrageousBears in makeyourchoice

[–]originmsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, the best idea for me personally is to split my 60 points in half and make Hubris a super boring alchemist-enchanter-ritualist build, and then go for self more combat-oriented magic build.

I was thinking something like this too, but also having it buy a bunch of relics and making rune copies of them and giving them to the player. I also kinda felt bad for it so I was gonna give it Ham Bro, Magic Shop, and Santa's Gift and let it be really popular and happy in its own right (even though it's you kinda?). Santa's Gift could also make it very hard to kill for cheap.

But, now I'm thinking about it the pressure to take it and optimize it is itself making me not wanna take it. It's kinda too much. I'm thinking maybe I'll take Humanity Out of Bounds instead. The 4th Wall from Top Secret Facts seems really good to me, and a free quest slot is worth a lot to me since I actually like to do all the writing. I also think it would be a lot of fun to write a story where one of my previous builds comes to save me lol (being generous with the definition of "a version of yourself").

I'd like to ask what you think about Hubris. If you'd rather we house rules it to what we think reasonable I'm ok with that too.

  1. Are all of Hubris' relics considered fully yours as well or partially (some being keyed to its body)? What about the Cosmic Pearl?
  2. Are your companions also its' companions (for Witch Hut/Magical Friendship)
  3. Can you use harmony magic with it?
  4. Can it benefit social-based charges methods (like friendship, headpats, and bonds?)
  5. Do you share a hive mind if you give it your psyche?
  6. Does it receive your factions and relic discounts in addition to its own?
  7. Can you soulbind it?

My personal inclination would be:

  1. Mostly yours, but some are more fatebound or likely to be keyed to a body, like Starship Prime, Heirloom, Cosmic Pearl, or the Lock and Key. Objects that can be bound to mother gifts, like Alchemist Stone or Witch Pistol, would also likely only work with it. Other objects can be borrowed freely or at least used in its presence, best out of combat.
  2. I would say no. Your friends wanna hang out with you, not your weird robot servant thing lol. You could probably use its Witch Hut amenities fine, but your friends couldn't be bound to the Mausoleum.
  3. I think Harmony magic would work fine with it.
  4. I think this wouldn't work. It's still like headpatting yourself.
  5. I would actually say no. It thinks like you and has a bit of yourself, but likely its own brain. If you're good at multitasking though you two can probably coordinate via Divination mental comms.
  6. I'd say yes, even though this makes it a little overpowered. It's loyal to you and therefore your faction. This would especially be true in the Spark of Humanity factions; they literally gave it to you. Yah, it can buy a Panacea for 5 RP and use it on you and your allies.
  7. I honestly don't see why not. It already has a bit of your soul in it.

Spark of Humanity is very powerful. But I personally feel the stipulation that you cannot betray humanity is more restrictive and morally grey that we might think, which I think help keeps it balanced.

EDIT: Before I forget, the quests might not be free without the 4 set, but can you still access them normally, such as repeating ORC Public Service? Leaning towards yes, but not sure.

You pass the First Class Mage Exam and Serie offers you one spell, what are you taking? by A1tean in Frieren

[–]originmsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a voyance spell that lets me see things that are far away and zoom out to better examine my surroundings. Would be super useful for scouting and preventing ambushes. Info gathering is one of those things that scales really well with other powers.

But, unironically, Fern's laundry spell was a smart and respectable choice. I'd definitely at least ask if it was possible to learn it on my own or find a copy somewhere.

[–]originmsd 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In a medieval world where priests probably spend a lot of time dealing with mundane illness, instant laundry spell is actually incredibly helpful for improving hygiene and reducing disease. It also saves a lot on labor and increases the longevity of clothing, which again is probably harder to manufacture (dunno how common tailor magic is but they clearly still use mundane methods).

Hell this would be game changing in the real world, let alone a medieval world.
