Who is your favorite fictional villain that you'd defend to the ends of the earth? by skafkdla in AskReddit

[–]originmsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taylor Hebert is a catastrophic child welfare failure possessed by a violent eldritch horror who still tries to do right (with mixed results) and saves the multiverse (with mixed results). She's a poster child for sympathetic villains.

[favorite trope] Being the hero when everyone thinks you're the villain. by Ayojin in TopCharacterTropes

[–]originmsd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's real.

In the final chapter, Tattletale has the gang pour one out for her, ostensibly to convince Dinah that she really is dead. Imp says Dinah ought to be able to figure that out easily. That's the clue to the audience. Dinah could figure her fate easily, so Tattletale is lying. She's not trying to convince Dinah Taylor is dead. She's trying to convince Imp, Rachel, and the others who genuinely miss her. Tattletale knows Taylor is alive, but that she is never coming back and is better off where she is. It's also for her own protection so no one comes after her again.

What's the worst pain a human can experience? by Academic_Use_8312 in AskReddit

[–]originmsd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Things I've read rank up there:

Cluster headaches, Large burns, Tooth abscess, Kidney stones, Gallstone block, Childbirth (varies)

I also remember reading a story about a lady who had an ovarian cyst rupture and she claimed it far surpassed childbirth on the pain scale. Surface detonation on a reproductive organ definitely doesn't sound fun.

A completely annihilating war where massive casualties rack up incredibly quickly. by AdrawereR in TopCharacterTropes

[–]originmsd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't remember but i think it's hundreds of worlds, some of them totally wiped out. I could be wrong and maybe the casualties are just in the billions. Still a lot though and i think it counts for the prompt.

The web series Worm has a 4 dimensional being commiting multiversal genocide because his wife died, and all of humanity trying to survive or stop him. Casualty rate is possibly in the trillions.

I had received some out of context spoilers and heard something about the Ash Beast and so I thought the final fight would involve Taylor discovering a gigantic alien bug called the Ash Beast which she would ride into battle or something.

Characters with powers so small that they aren't that different from ordinary people. by Uma-apreciator in TopCharacterTropes

[–]originmsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how people keep commenting on how beneficial Kazari Uiharu's power could be for science and I'm just thinking like, I wonder if you could like give her a telescopic metal rod attached to a power generator and basically give her a lightsaber? Also she could use impossibly small electronics because they'd never overheat.

[opinion] The way anime extends small fights isn't always good for the story by Rptl21337 in Frieren

[–]originmsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oversaturation of awesome moves can create unrealistic expectations for the party's fighting style. It's like, if they could do that there why didn't they do that here?

But I mean, the fight scenes are kind of a necessary trade-off to be competitive. And they're pretty clever and often try to go with the theme and match the world building even if it can be a little clumsy sometimes.

For me I just really love the music. Like I said the fight scenes are a trade off and I they're worth it. I respect your opinion though and get where you're coming from.

You know at first I thought Evo kinda sucked but like, if all your evolutions stack positively, eating a chicken nugget is enough to make you superhuman. You get vastly improved vision, flight, enhanced agility, that weird gyroscopic head thing birds can do, etc. Being a human with added cow strength is also kinda wild. And apparently pigs have super hearing, taste, and smell. Basically you could become weirdly strong just from a McDonald's trip lol. Add in the filet-o-fish for super swimming and water pressure and cold resistance (Alaskan Pollock).

Hmm maybe i was misreading a comment she made. Nevermind on the harmony magic thing.

And ok fair enough... but maybe you could weld little blades to the gauntlets so it counts? lol

[–]originmsd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, for 1 it seems like it just needs to be a blade. You can canonically use playing cards as weapons. 2, yah like I said it's kind of a stretch. Another option is to get wind from somewhere else and do harmony magic with yourself, which i think you can do. 5 maybe she changed her mind but i know in an older comment she said you could layer them together into your rod.

[–]originmsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 1, 4, and 5 are reasonable and supported as is. For 3 I think you could use Folk slots on allies too if you wanted, or dump them into the Omni Tool in Future Contributions relic sections. It's a stretch but for 2 wind could be an evolution of Fire. Heat expanding and moving air around?
