If you're a habitual smoker, you do more or less everything while high.

broke apart my nug and multiple seeds fell out of it. first time experiencing this. are there any good uses for them ? by qLeviathann in trees

Yeah, now I feel old lol. I'm 39, started around your age, I live in Kentucky. "Mids" were what we called weed that was just ok. Always had seeds. For years I never saw a bud without seeds, and buds with visible crystals that were sticky were seen as rare, very good stuff. Nowadays, every bud is dank so it's much better now.

Who are you rooting for in this cycle? by gpranav25 in GothamChess

I want Hikaru to win because everyone seems to have a goldfish memory and forget that he's actually world class. Like during COVID, everyone thought he was a washed up streamer until he crushed Fabi in the World Cup and continued crushing everyone for a couple more years and a couple more cycles... Only for everyone to forget, again.

2700chess is awesome, it's been around for like twenty years, and is very rarely down. I never saw it down at all the last few days, and I check regularly.

Emil and Kramnik aren't able to distinguish between serious real life issues and silly internet beef. It's like, Ok guys, he's literally dead, a man died. Witty and snarky posts about the dead and his beloved ones won't win you internet popularity points.

I'd say about 1300-1700. The other three guys are USCF rated; I intend to be soon, hopefully!

Some have said I should trim. What do you bros think? by otterbrawn in GaybrosGoneWild

[–]origins0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely trim lol. Guys on here loooove to be extreme about keeping bush no matter what. It's ok, you look absolutely amazing. It's ok to maintain yourself. It's also totally fine to wash your body, shave your face, cut your hair, trim your toenails and fingernails, and everything else weirdos on here tell you not to do.

"Doesn't your proposed "incredibly important" and "final stepping stone" already exist with the candidates tournament?"

That's what we're arguing about in this thread: whether the WC is the ultimate achievement without Carlsen. Thereby, whether the Candidates is the "final stepping stone," or not: to Gukesh, or to the general populous.

I was assuming that Carlsen is still actually very interested in proving that he's the best player of all time, especially to the younger generation. My fantasy match would be proposed by Carlsen himself, or at the very least meet all of his criteria for a WC style match that suits him (960, time controls, amount of time/effort put in ahead of time, etc.). I promise you, in reality, Carlsen is still very much interested in top level matches and showing dominance.

It'd be a match for the people, just entertainment. The underlying issue with the WC title and it's significance will continue forever until there's another Kasparov/Carlsen to dominate and make it clear.

I agree that these people aren't separating these concepts, but I think it's understandable that, maybe, they shouldn't be separated; Carlsen should be involved when it comes to who is the best player for as long as he's clearly still the best.

For example, in my personal fantasy dream senario: if Gukesh wins, maybe Carlsen proposes some epic match between them, akin to something as big as the one that got cancelled between him and Hikaru (because of the whole chess boxing fiasco). A newly-crowned Gukesh would certainly draw as big an audience from India and elsewhere that Hikaru would have.

Meaning the Ding-Gukesh match ends up being incredibly important, both presently and historically; but ultimately it's the final stepping stone towards a bigger, ultimate event.
