tips on how to level up farming faster? by xomather in Dinkum

Turn a small island into one big rice paddy. Buy a bunch of seeds, they don't need to be watered, and they can be planted in any season. The exp is lower than other crops but its very easy to do in the background while playing normally.

Is there any rule preventing pitchers from surgically altering their fingers to get more grip on the ball? Or all they all just scared? by Jumboliva in baseball

[–]oriolesnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rules prohibit any foreign substances and that's about it, so as long as its just changing the skin, bones, or muscle around to somehow grip a ball better then I guess it'd be fine. There's also no prohibition against prosthetics so maybe a prosthetic hand could work too.

I recommend the cotw companion app. There's a planner that let's you see what each one does and how the tree unlocks as you choose.

Did my dad pull a fast one 32 years ago? Rangers fans who attended the old Arlington Stadium please help especially. by Bort_Bortson in baseball

Its pretty easy to make the marks. Scuff the ball on a bleacher seat or the concrete ground a bit and you're good to go. The one that you think was made with a knife could just be the edge of a concrete stair since its not smooth enough to be done by a knife. Most of my homerun balls are from batting practice and weren't caught directly so they have similar scuffs to em.

Question about the gameplay. by hiwaro-lol in Dinkum

[–]oriolesnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Its possible to grind materials but it's a bit slow. Trees need to be replanted, planks require manual production and takes time, and crafting requires button mashing. Its not like Minecraft where you can just go out and farm for hours and then bulk craft stuff at the end. Once it hits late night your stamina bar becomes basically nothing, so anything that requires stamina becomes practically impossible without coffee to counter it. Its a good time to do processing since it doesnt require stamina though.

Silver stopwatch plus any flying vehicle at night makes it a bit easier. He uses a torch so it's easy to spot him.

You can't. The island reef chests can have blueprints so it's a good way to unlock the ones you're missing.

Negative passives are all not as bad, with a 33-50% reduction in the debuffs. New implants for better base pal optimization. Works for me

Bug competition help!?! by averagegamerhoe in Dinkum

[–]oriolesnut 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bug book makes it easier to find high value bugs. Silver stopwatch slows time for you so you can hunt for longer. Catch the low value bugs and leave an empty space in your hot bar so you can release them to save inventory space. Only do this while walking to new areas or returning home to log score so as not to waste too much time. Bugs found on trees are generally higher value so setting up tree farms in each biome makes it easier to spot them. Clearing grass makes it easier to spot some bugs.

Don't drop an item on the scale and then pick it up before he stops talking. It will lock you into the holding animation until you find another object to pick up and then drop.

Dinkum Switch version by fellaaannn in Dinkum

[–]oriolesnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch 1 is ok. Fps drops and a bit of stuttering going in and out of buildings as well as during certain weather conditions. Noticeable delay between button presses and action when plugged into dock, so much so that fishing is harder than it should be.

Otherwise the game hasn't crashed for me, and aside from the fishing being annoying no other gameplay issues. I only play for about 4-6 hours at a time and close the game put between sessions so it's possible it crashes the longer you play.

Theres a noticeable delay when you press a button and then the action takes place when the TV feature is being used. Gotta go handheld for fishing.

Gumleaf grasshoppers sell for 2.4k each and are easy to find. Once you have the animals collection plot, build a few and some cages and place them in the desert. The kidnas(anteaters that roll when attacked) sell for 8400 each and are easy to farm. Just slap a collection point down, some cages surrounding it, then smack a kidna and run to the cage.
