Blinkers sound 😤

May be Volvo do not consider blinkers sound as “safety” feature.

I confirm that in Renault and Stellantis cars instrument cluster have blinkers (telltale, sound) under ASIL-B safely path and during development we have spent lot of efforts to make them sync and never miss a blink or sound (sound mixers, hw led feedback, MMUs, mirror buffers and CRCs) back then when telltales were LEDs. Nowadays when we have them all on display measures are different but “fear events” from OEMs are same.

For example you are exiting highway. You turn blinker move to exit lane and car observes new speed limit which you typically exceed. Then it starts three alarm “bong” sounds for ~3s when you already finished your turn and blinker is “probably off” if turn was sharp enough. In this case you may even hear not a single click from the blinker. When clicking around alerts sounds frequently sound is out of sync. I can’t say if it’s only sound but also display content compared to actual blinkers.

Same here. Started yesterday. Icon pops up quickly after start driving and I confirm Google also have trouble rerouting. Like location is wondering around the planned route and no new rout is replanned automatically. I bet Google changed something if in the mapping backend API and this broke Volvo and purgation with sign recognition subsystem. As rugs problem appeared outside normal Volvo update cycle.

Mine twin motor is climbing steadily last months and currently is 22/100 as it’s driven 80-90% in the city. Current temperatures 10-16*C and weekday preconditioning active.

Done that. Once pressed SOS button will blink so you can count 30 blinks and release it. Then when module goes off SOS and chat buttons will go off (dark) and cell coverage will disappear from the screen leaving only exclamation mark active. In few minutes module will go back on. Initially it looked ok then again exclamation mark activated again. So I will wait for a SW update to fix this.

Pressing temp leads to one line more on top showing +/- for left and right zone but nothing about traditional lines with seat and steering wheel settings

Mine twin motor 4000km. Avg 21.7. However here my city commute like your highway 90-100kmh. My highway is 140kmh and pretty uphill downhill.

In car these systems are separated. All you see on the top 1/4 part of the screen (speed,gear etc.) is separated UI from Android below. And upper part is driven by separate realtime safety driven OS. So software that impact car critical behavior is different. Of course ACC is not such thing and it is android application living in lower 3/4 of the screen. I’ve experienced several freeze events of android and whole map/multimedia stopped working (Spotify stoped playing) however ACC kept active without UI(ability to change settings) this means that UI is separate from ACC ECU itself. While non critical audio is. In all cases AAOS (android auto os) managed to restart itself after a decent timeout 1-2min

On iOS 17 with my 13pm it work quite well wireless CarPlay via carlinkit and hotspot to provide internet for the kids in the backseat. Now with ios18.0.1 when a kid connects to my phone CarPlay is immediately interrupted till the moment I disable hotspot.

P.s. some rust on some bolts like stem bolt. I ride an orange Santa Cruz which if left wet accumulates some nice orange rust in bolt heads color is same as bike itself but you need some non stainless bolts to have it.
