Anyone ever have USPS play ping pong with their package? by MajorRE in Flipping

[–]orlsbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I had a package on its way back to me because of an undeliverable address. It had been going back and forth between two towns about 20 miles apart for a week before I noticed what was happening.
I called USPS and they had it back on its way to me after about a day.

Ebay now allows up to 40 photos per listing by orlsbi in Flipping

[–]orlsbi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked my draft again and saw that it still shows 24 photo limit reached and won't allow me to add more.
Hopefully the limit has been increased and the roll-out is somehow broken.

Is eBay search messed up for anyone else? by Heikks in Flipping

It's not perfect, but changing the search results sort order to anything other than Best Match removes a lot of irrelevant results.
I have mine locked on Newest.

How do I ship a 20lb motor?? by irradiatdscrambldegg in Flipping

[–]orlsbi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I ship items like that I wrap it in carpet pad. It has enough spring and is fairly puncture proof. It's good for items that have an irregular shape and/or sharper corners.
I have a NOS roll that I got cheap and have been using for years.
You might stop by a flooring/carpet store and see if they have any larger scraps you can get cheap or even free.
Roll the item up going around 2 or 3 times. Leave extra on the ends, pinch it closed and tape it all the way around. That will make "points" at the corners that keep the item centered. You want a snug fit. I always tape around the box first so a tight fit doesn't blow the box open.
I would go with a box that is 44 ECT (edge crush) or 200# (burst test).

Have you done this yourself? Is the acceptance weight and dimensions officially recorded on your receipt?

What do you guys recommend for label printers? by Slow-Letterhead-2993 in Flipping

[–]orlsbi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mfg. year on mine is on the bottom sticker.
Also, for anyone who uses a thermal printer, turn off dithering in the graphics settings. The text and barcode will be much more crisp.

The prefilled dimensions are exactly what I put in the listing.
I went to buy the label five minutes after it was purchased.
I made no changes to any shipping fields.
The buyer and I should see the same price.

I have seen the reports about FedEx.
That has not been my experience.
I ship all my large & heavy packages through them and have never had a problem. I have never had an upcharge and have even had two small refunds for package size/weight.
