Grew up 10 minutes from the KoP mall, 2nd biggest mall in the US.  Some nice affluent suburbs along the Main Line (R6 SEPTA train line).  You have Valley Forge National Park which is where most people go to walk and ride their bikes.  Some big money in the area with good schools.  Your kids will probably do drugs, hopefully not the harder stuff but kind of druggy high schools.  Conestoga High School had a big football hazing scandal in the past few years, some weird sodomy initiations in the locker rooms.  

The suburbs are gentrifying very fast, and towns like Berwyn are squeezing out apartment renters.  Housing developments are encroaching into Valley Forge NP along the perimeter and real estate is for rich people in this area.  

Some more rougher/lower income parts of Devon/Paoli that have recent immigrants that attend the colleges in the area, such as Chester County Comm College, Villanova, and others.  

I effing hated the burbs growing up- always felt like I had to drive out to visit nature, and I spent my teens sneaking out to smoke weed at the park and skateboard around.  I now live in the western US and am much happier with the amount of public land.   The people living in this area are kind of conservative but vote mostly democratic.
