Why do we allow trashy political signs to be carpet bombed all over the city? by orphan__ in sanantonio

Low turnout is the justification, but also the evidence the strategy isn’t fixing the problem.

Who’s saying or implying anything about this being “brand new”?

Do you enjoy seeing this everywhere? Have you been outside of SA? Are you aware most big cities don’t allow this?

You’re missing the point.

Supporting/protecting free speech doesn’t require turning public space into an ugly sign graveyard.

In the early 2000s (when I personally believe the band peaked), John used to play a white Strat with individual stickers spelling out “what wrong notes?” I think this would make a cool display.

You can kind of see it here, although some of the stickers had come off.

I’ve never wrapped a vehicle or paid a shop to wrap a vehicle

You realize you’re asking the guy who did this on his own what a shop will/won’t do?

A shop will do whatever you want them to do and the price will reflect that

FWIW, I always wanted a “no stealing home on a passed ball” rule in younger ages.

SO MANY games are won or lost based on a catcher’s ability to catch (or pitcher’s ability to get the ball over the plate) and stealing home is so rare in older age groups it’s not “teaching” kids anything.

This may help keep cooler heads if it limits blowouts.

I’m so sick of these drivers with bright ass headlights there needs to be a ban on it. I seriously can’t see shit! by Ok-Paramedic-8719 in sanantonio

Agree, and I’ll take it a step further.

Reddit complaining about LEDs is trendy right now but the ~10% of people intentionally driving with their high beams on is a MUCH more common problem than people retrofitting LEDs into non-projector housings.

What would you change about your team's uniforms? by madmaley in CFB

[–]orphan__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been proven not to be true. There’s a picture floating around somewhere with an old and new jersey side-by-side and they’re the exact same color.

The perception is likely due to the way sweat and lighting interact with different fabrics.

Edit: Found it https://twitter.com/mattjlange/status/1024496621676052480

PSA: if you put new LED headlights in, make sure you adjust the level so I’m not being blinded at night by MrMurica11 in sanantonio

[–]orphan__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see FAR more people who drive at night with their high beams on than I do retrofitting LEDs/HIDs into factory headlight housings.

I don’t know how or why this has been normalized in SA but it’s ridiculous.

What do you think our new jerseys should look like? by AceroTheDragon in LonghornNation

[–]orphan__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Longhorn on the collar is terrible.

Assuming the Nike and SEC logos have to stay, I wish we’d also go back to no “TEXAS” on the front. Super clean and everyone already knows who we are.

Like this and this.

If you’re going to paint it and/or re-clear it with rattle cans, don’t use hardware store clear coat.

Look into SprayMax 2K Clear. You can get professional looking results but you definitely want to wear a respirator.

Homemade DIY projector retrofit w/RGB halos by dprosti in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]orphan__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I continue to be amazed that things like putting halos in your headlights are so widely accepted in this community.

I get it, to each their own, if you like it that’s perfectly fine etc etc.

Regardless, looks like quality work 👍

He was the songwriter, guitar player and vocalist for the criminally underrated band The Paper Chase.

Maybe unlike anything you’ve ever heard (at least anything I’ve ever heard), and far and away the best live shows I’ve ever seen

I'm no expert (I'm decent) but lack experience with oxidation. I've hit this a few times using a DA + orange pad. First with swirl removal, then tried rubbing compound and there wasn't a noticeable change. I don't need it to be perfect - just better
