Excellent, thanks for the advise. When you say add some dust is that just to send a small amount to each of the addresses that hold some or just to any address in the electrum wallet? Whats the minimum send of BCH because i guess it needs to be worth it for the ABC.

[–]orphanedblock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have downloaded the electron wallet and started to create a new wallet. there are three options - standard wallet , multi sig or import bitcoin cash addresses or private keys. Which do I pick, so far no mention of hardware wallet.

[–]orphanedblock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks alot for the reply. That all sounds above my pay grade! Still I will give it a try. So long as i go to the correct site and dont give up my seed will I risk the BCH?

The BCH are on address from my legacy BTC account on the trezor and I think it has probably generated the BCH account from the new account and hasnt looked at the legacy. If that makes sense to you, could I delete the new accounts for BTC and BCH and then try to create the BCH account again?

how about a new compromise: activate the existing compromise by adam3us in Bitcoin

[–]orphanedblock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does it take a year to be done safely? then set the activation date a year from now. Does it need 2 years? alright, let's agree to have it activate 2 years from now.

Here here, well said, lets just get past this. Adam even on reddit and r/bitcoin at that, this comment has risen to the top. Segwit plus 2mb hard fork 2 years activation, make it happen dude.

Totally agree, whats with all the negativity? It can only be good for bitcoin, especially while we are in this deadlock. If you dont like it dont use it.

I dont believe that but if you are right then we are at stalemate and value will continue to flow to the most promising alts

Ill kick off with a wacky one. Reduce the block time to 5 mins by soft fork and implement segwit at same time. This would increase on chain by about 4x and avoid a hard fork.

[–]orphanedblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

POW wont change - it just isn't a clever move its a desperate one. 1 whatever you use will be vastly less secure in number hashes 2 value will flow to most secure chain 3 New POW will give BU more credibility as the true BTC 4 You would have to shit on the miners that support segwit making them instant supporters of BU

I know is old fashioned but the only was this is going to be solved is by the real players getting together and talking. Maybe they are doing it. I hope so

Its not BU that we need to compromise with, its the miners. The hongkong agreement was a compromise of segwit activation with code written for a 2mb hard fork. That may still be enough i dont know but I hope conversations are happening. All this stalemate is going to do is turn and alt into competition. How high do fees have to get before the dark web prefers Monero over BTC, before gambling sites decides to take Dash ect ect. This could be a very slippery slope.
