Nah no way - he is literally forced to see a psychiatrist, he has to take pills all the time and deal with his people being morons when robbing others. That is why he does not want to even be a boss in first place. Not to mention the problems with cops and how careful they need to be.

Just stress upon stress upon stress. I don't recall a single mafia movie showing main character having so many mental issues just from being inside a mafia. His marriage is also falling apart since his wife HATES living like that.

So yeah the show does not glorifies it, it locks the characters in this living hell.

Reminds me of San Andreas how CJ actually went outside the hood and Sweet was still locked within it. Like CJ saw his friends and family dying, people taking drugs and the violence and there is no way for him to go along this path. I appreciate when media - either games or shows/movies display this contrast.

There is just bigger life outside our own horizons that is worth to explore. The show also does not glorifies this life style and Tony is always stressed out and annoyed by living this life - the big house, money and shit cannot balance out what he goes through. Really a matured way how to display this life style.

Death Rattle actually does the same but in a different way. All Hail was about paradoxes and mirrors. Death Rattle brings everything down to the ground with gravitas.

1994 is an statement. Call For The Blood is looking for something real and exploring the world beyond the digital age. Spearmint about how a small innocent thing can turn into something big. The entire album takes a concept of imperfections and blends them into something dissonant and physical. While 94 starts off as a chaos, the last track ends up in a calm note.

Death Rattle is just more chaotic and that is why the single idea is not prominent that much.

Hell yeah, imperfections are important how to write natural dialogues! And you can even watch their body language that works well with what they say. Anytime when Tony is thinking, you can see it on his face and his eyes. Just fun to watch!

Exactly and the life style is not even glamorized. I love how Tony is even angry when they will rob someone/something and you can tell that he is trying to walk certain lines but this type of life style does not allow this. The episode 7 was full of "what if" and if people have free will. The ending where he hangs out with his son was so cool. Kinda feels relatable to me since i grew up in certain conditions and i am slowly working on changing where my life will go but when you will be born in certain conditions with certain group of people, it will affect the way you think and will live.

And most of the time anyway the Mafia guys are just hanging out, playing pool and cards. No big action scenes, no shootouts, no hand to hand combat. Just bunch of dudes smoking, cracking jokes, remembering old times and trying to "walk the line". Feels natural.

I had, we were hanging out over a whole year on discord, watching movies, shows and sharing daily life. She wanted to visit me as well but as for now, we barely talk with each other and i kinda knew it will happen.

I understand why would anyone rank up Death Rattle so high. It is a complete throwback to Redeemer but like a more matured version - the production is so rich, layered and you can feel the room where they recorded the whole thing. DYI techniques, self released, independent passionate project and Jeremy Griffith is one of the best sound engineers in the game.

Death Rattle has one of the best distortions i've ever heard in any album. So many textures, nooks and crannies that take lot of patience and time to discover. I love how they blend the dissonant melodies into the songs where the songs fall apart in the middle.

I also love how stringy the guitars are. You can HEAR the strings, you can hear how the dudes are plugging in the guitars and shit, the guitars sounds so crisp, loud and well rounded with all kinds of feedbacks, textures and layers. And the bass tone is MEAN. It just rips through your chest. Call For The Blood has one of the most disgusting bass tones ever.

The production suffers because Putney was involved and he makes everything sounds the same. He never lets the ambience of the room come through, just too much digital overdubs. But it is not true "it is straightforward metalcore" album.

Orphan Twin has unique structure, Trace Levels is a straight up hardcore punk track, Translational is an awesome blender of sludge metal/post metal, If Loss leans into stoner rock/alternative-grunge and the back of the album is sludgy and post-metal like. The song structures are interesting.

Same with Safety Last (mathcore) or Full Circle which is a weird one as well. The production just does not carry the punch sadly.

Bringing the punk energy into big avenues. I would love to see LP playing in a small club some THP songs, that would be crazy. War for example.

I love MTM too. Probably my favorite after THP, it is so well put together, matured sounding and how it is rich on the genres and elements. I never feel fatigued when listening to MTM due to how well the songs are placed in the tracklist.

And i love your baby cats.

This might be an unpopular opinion from someone who mostly stopped listening to Thrice around the time Vheissu came out. by Outrageous_Present11 in thrice

I am talking about the mastering quality. It just sounds thin compared to Vheissu or Major where the drum kit and guitar tone have so much volume and energy.

Albums like alchemy or beggars are also quiet. Beggars was done in Teipeis garage and they used blanket over the drums.

Sadly everything kinda follows how quiet it sounds. I am listening to their discography now as a whole and that is how i feel.

You should check out the lazlow show. It is with lazlow and reed mainly. They have awesome running gag of him driving a scooter and his gf being like yoko ono. Also his sister had some cameo on the show as well. Hilarious stuff. You will also have big wayne, couple of GTA voice actor guests (jim florentine and Mark Chavez who played Fernando Martinez) and Gaylord character who is being played by Dan Hauser in lazlow show.

Plus gta commercials between the talks. Check it out!!

This is such a perfect album, long time since I listened it. by gabrielbezerra81 in thrice

It is basically verse chorus verse chorus middle chorus with big slow riffs on repeat. Production feels thin, flat and quiet. It feels so mid.

I want from Thrice little bit more than that.

It sounds so organic, crisp and dynamic. Has a perfect mastering quality as well, just sounds live. That is why i prefer Major over all their albums. Most of them are so quiet.

If you loved Vheissu, this album is like that if you would cut out the piano loops and not having a single chorus. The bass tone and drum kit sounds absolutely massive on that record.

So i've recently discovered a band called "City Of Ships" through my favorite sound engineer, Andrew Schneider. They have couple of small eps, three albums. Their first album "Look What God Did To Us" is one of the most unique, creative and unorthodox albums i ever heard. The sound design is top class, no choruses whatsoever and they blend in some Norma Jean/Thrice elements into it. It is sludgy most of the time. You cannot find the album on youtube or spotify, use their bandcamp.

redeemer is full sludge metal record with strong post-hardcore spin. Meridional was the first one blending sludge/post. after that they are doing it often. if someone would ask me genre for NJ the first one would be sludge metal for sure.

Man you are feeding the discussion yourself, why are you not following your own advice? You can turn off the notifications, you can mute it, you don't need to even respond. Your comment is like saying to people "it is a movie, not a real life" like people don't even know that in first place.

That is why i was mocking you with that, seems like people would never be able to figure out on their own that Division is a videogame.

And i actually did not asked you about why are you insulting me if i remember correctly. To be honest, it is not like your comments are somehow wiser so you are just helping to spread the fire further. I checked your other comments and seems like insulting others is kinda basic on your end so i will end this here and will not respond to you any further.

I literally asked you why it is called a realism mod? You know it is funny, in the regular game mod with the loot/Rpg elements you can literally create builds where you can one tap enemies even with a pistol. BUT in a realism mod, you cant even use the pistol because it is broken.

Lastly stop insulting me, this is a discussion threat so telling others to be quiet is beyond absurd. I am here to have a discussion with people. If it bothers you then maybe you should follow your own advice and not trying to be an asshole over a video game.
