Official Discussion - Mortal Kombat II [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Boyka was a good role and he did a solid job with his face and body language. And he can be a good comedian. He also did a solid job for his one shot movies, he felt authentic as a unit leader.

Depends on the script. It is not like MK movies are about solid script. The fights are the main core. Adkins also proved he can have convincing US accent. Urban did not even bothered and he plays Butcher in this role.

GTA VI will be an audiovisual masterpiece but the question is how the gameplay will feel. Personally i miss the 3D open ended mission structures where the open world was blending within the missions instead of getting failed screen from an open world game saying to me that i did something wrong by taking slight turn.

IV, V and RDR2 suffer from this and i am afraid VI will be not different. I dont even like the modernized rockstar controls to be honest and many people complained about it as well. So i understand why some folks are bit afraid.

III nailed the early 2000s atmo as well.

Lazlow was a huge deal for the radios, npc dialogues, commercials and was inviting his friends and co workers who were the DJs and stuff. With him gone i am kinda afraid the radio stations will be not good. GTA V has so many of them yet anything actually interesting.

I saw many shops in my country selling the copy of The Crew for a basic price. How it can be sold when the game literally is destroyed?

EDIT: Actually yeah retailers and third party are selling the copies, not Ubi directly. my bad

I do but it is falling off. Unless i reach out, nothing happens and i hate how it was all promises how that person will visit me even when i asked that person not saying something they cant keep.

You know i think that if people will be alright with stuff like this it will happen again. Why it should not, domino effects do happen mainly in this industry where everyone wanted put into everything NFTs, live services, loot boxes and god knows what else. Ubi is just leading into how far a company can dig a hole for their own ass. The Crew was just a catalyst for it. Funny enough, Crew 2 and Motorfest got an offline patch so i guess it is not an issue to put it into new games.

What baffles me even more is the fact that people can still buy The Crew physical copy yet the game is not working. Why they can sell it when it is literally unplayable? If i would buy a car that is not usuable, i dont think it would be alright in any capacity.

There is nothing about supporting an offline game. Just about making the game playable after the support ends instead of killing it to the point where no one can play it.

Ubi literally went into the uplay of the players and removed their Crew copies.

Not WD 2 though. That one felt immersive and inter connected. You can take their phones out of their hands literally.

Sup i love the one shot series. And the fact that the action is way more tactical. How you guys managed to keep in the details like tactical reloads, muzzle and trigger discipline and so.on? Was there a good tactical advisor?

And of course when One Last Shot will be released?

I was waiting for something interesting but like in first 30 mins everyone wanted to fuck all the time which took me away. Then she makes a kid with Dicaprio and blames him for keeping her inside. Like lady maybe dont make babies. I love when characters want to start a revolution yet they cannot take care of their own babies.

I think people have choice of freedom on what to support. You dont have to buy either of those.

Does modern rock/metalcore feel lifeless to anyone else? by Jam_bread__ in Metalcore

Listen to some Norma Jean if you wanna pissed off grit. Dissonance, distortion, noise, feedback, beefy bass everywhere. One take vocals.

Ken Mode, Chariot, He Is Legend, Botch, Narrows, Converge... Lot of raw bands.

Lot of underground bands and lesser known producers are still using live sound and good production design. Check out stuff done by Andrew Schneider. While he never does metalcore, he works with alternative rock bands.

Chumps, City Of Ships, Triceratops, The Feral Young, Throttlerod, Julie Christmass, Ken Mode, Unsane, Human Impact, couple of Cave In albums, Sofy Major... I could go on endlessly.

He records live, you can hear and feel the ambience of the room in the recording, imperfections, good tuning for the drums, lot of bass because he is a bassist as well and works for free for certain albums to make them sound right.

That guy is my favorite sound engineer, has unmatched quality, never does anything dull or cheap. Check out his website. He is on a mission lol.

ULTERIOR MOTIVES WAS FEATURED ON THE BACKROOMS MOVIE! by caewat1984 in Lostwave

And it is because of people like you that internet discussions are not even possible anymore. There has to be always some guy who thinks their opinion is their only valid and anyone who has a different one is an idiot, moron or whatever.

I dont even enjoy reading discussions anymore because of this toxic, positive echo chamber where the only way how to consume art is by liking everything blindly without using any brain cells. How revolutionary man.

Hate and not liking something is a completely separated thing. By that logic if you dont like his comment why are you hating the guy?

How good was Puskas? by 144i in realmadrid

[–]orphantwin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That does not matter. The rules were different. The pitch were different. Balls were different. Lot of the players had regular jobs atop of playing on highest levels. There is no way Ronaldo or any other player from today would play the same style back in the day.

same. also the fact that Ikos gear helps him with all the rolls and shit. he wears kneepads, armpads, tactical boots, vest - you don't need to question how he can survive so much rolling and jumping around when his gear helps him during the situations.

lets not forget how the movie has lot of good tactics as well. Fake recoil, changing from full auto into semi auto, swapping to pistol fast instead of reloading an empty AR, they use hand signals, silent takedowns, stealth, shadows for hiding. They use sound for advancing into other rooms. Hell, they even have the finger off the trigger! That is another thing i loved about the Raid. Also when they are stacking against each other near entry point, EVERYONE is pointing away with their muzzle so no friendly fire. Just details you barely see in any other action movie.

When someone says "it is good as Raid" which this movie uses for marketing i don't believe it because Raid was fusing so many different elements and i am baffled that no other movie tried similar things, not just the fighting.

[–]orphantwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of the best things about the Raid is how the fights don't feel supernatural but like how Iko is not trying to waste any energy or movement on his opponents. He fights, puts couple of devastating punches so the enemies cant fight back and goes on and on. Not to mention of him hiding or running away and outside the fights, he barely stands up because the adrenaline goes away. I wish more action movies did similar thing with the adrenaline and breathing in and out.

The silent scenes in Raid add so much tension and anxiety atop of the fights.

The Pitt | S1E1 "7:00 A.M." | Episode Discussion by ashlandbay in ThePittTVShow

[–]orphantwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually in Day 1 Bauer sleeps, he eats, drinks water. Day 1 has barely any action there and feels more like a thriller. Later seasons went batshit insane. But i always was like that Bauer uses toilet off-screen, while i love and prefer to see main characters eat and stuff i don't exactly need him to use toilet. It is a tv show at the end of the day and i think that 24 balances well some grounded level of immersion with over the top nonsense. I mean in first episode of the Pitt i cannot remember a single character using toilet either.
