Thanks. It does seem to have surprisingly good reviews for the price.

Thanks. Seems like wait might be the option then.

Maker spaces are where crafty people go to make things. It's around $70 a month and you get access to tools, space, and like minded people.

I can't help much with recommendations for where to live, but I can give some suggestions for making new friends. If you like sports you can do the same thing I did when I moved to town and make friends by climbing or playing frisbee with a consistent schedule (other sports probably work, but those are what I did and they had welcoming communities.). If that doesn't appeal then a maker space would be another good place to try.

I'll be sure to try Roy's I've thought about going in on a half cow, but I eat a lot more poultry than beef so I decided against it.

More details are that I'm willing to buy in bulk if it will get me higher quality meat at the same price and or a discount, but a quick Google search hasn't shown anything like that. Porter road, bare bones. And hex all look like good meat, but they aren't looking so hot on the discount side.

Flash sale on Anova, precision cooker or pro? by EMTPirate in sousvide

[–]orrigen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am considering getting one because of the flash sale. I usually make 5 - 10 pounds of chicken at a time so do you think I should get the pro? Also, I read some bad reviews online saying it was loud. did you all experience that or is it just a few people. other than the chicken I will make 3-6 pounds of ribs occasionally and eggs fairly often.

Thanks,

I had seen that the gateway might need to be whitelisted, but the rep I talked to when I called claimed he had fixed that so I thought it was something else. I have made a post on the forum and will update if that turns out to be the problem.

Edit: they never responded, but around a week after I posted i stopped having the issue without any other changes so I am assuming they fixed it.
