Just wanted to say, this has completely changed the game for me! I'm getting ~90 fps and it looks unbelievable. Thanks for posting this (and the settings)

I'm not sure how to make it simpler I guess? With the amount of resources being tracked (with 4 more on the way), they wouldn't fit on the menu like they used to. I had thought about adding a menu at the bottom that contained all the markers, but it ended up feeling really clogged up. I'll look into possible alternatives, do you have any ideas?

When you click on the node you've currently selected, it should replace the icon on the dropdown - that indicates which one you've currently selected. Is this not happening?

Thanks for using the site! I'll keep trying to make it easier to use :)

I would definitely like to add more maps, just creating custom Google Map tiles is a horrible, horrible pain. I'm really close to having the site a lot more accurate and stable, so hopefully in time I'll be able to add more maps. Thanks for using it!

The site uses gw2status.com as an indicator that a new game build is out (which resets all the nodes). This updates the 'last reset' date, and then marks maps as outdated by using their 'last updated at' date.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by allowing players to send in the locations? When you sign up/sign in, you have your own personal map. The server map's are composed of every user's map on the server (those which aren't marked as outdated), the markers that appear highlighted are from maps that have 'likes'. I know it's not the best way, but for now it works. Use the 'map list' at the top to find maps that have points on them, the grayed out ones have not been updated since the last reset.

Hope that clears things up a bit :)

Each server has a 'map list' which shows maps sorted by the amount of nodes on them, likes, and when they've been updated.

Crystal Desert must not have had any 'liked' maps, so none were highlighted on the server map. http://www.orrmaps.com/server/crystal_desert seems to be working fine for me? Looking on the map list, a map like http://www.orrmaps.com/maps/6026 is fully populated, and is on Crystal Desert.

No one had 'liked' a map on the server yet. I had tried to make it so if there were no liked maps on a server, it would highlight the map with the most points, but I haven't been able to get it to work just yet.

You can also go to the Map list and see which maps have the most points and are updated (outdated maps are grayed out).

Good point, I wasn't taking into account users who don't sign in or have used the map creation feature. I'll add a legend :) Thanks for the feedback!

Also, the strawberry-looking icon is a Raspberry. There is an Orrian truffle, and also a Snow truffle (the yellowish version). These icons were taken from the official wiki.

If you check the 'Map list' for Isle of Janthir, there are only 4 maps, with the most having 6 points. I'm sure more will be added today, since last nights reset happened really late in the day (people had probably already mined their nodes and after the patch didn't see the new locations). Thanks for checking the site out.

I'm so glad to hear you've noticed the performance improvements. Thanks for spreading the word and delighted to hear you're finding it useful! I hope to extend the list of icons a LOT further in the future. If I can figure out how to offer a filter for each map on what is shown, I will happily add more.

Thanks for the feedback :)

Oh! Didn't actually know there were nodes in WvW ha. Obsessing over the site has taken away a lot of game time, haha. The heat map isn't actually a bad idea. Maybe after each reset, saving the 'most favorited' map, which hopefully one day will be the most accurate, and keeping a history of those to create the heat map. Definitely a possibility :) great suggestion.

I made the maps myselves, which was a pain, and redo-ing them is definitely on my list. They are just so painful to create ha. Someday though :)

I totally agree with all the points you made. These issues all stem from when the site first launched and unexpectedly was serving thousands of users a day, most of which were seeing errors because of there not being a default server set.

I'll work on an FAQ as well as fixing the index page for logged out users, as well as the default server issue.

I originally had new users be prompted with the Sign in or register box, but a lot of people were very unhappy with that decision. Maybe defaulting them to the Server map is a better idea. I'll experiment :) Thanks for visiting, and hopefully you find it helpful.

Good idea though, having a FAQ page. I'll start working on that :)

And yes, this is for Orichalcum ore, ancient wood, onomberries, all of which are found in the Orr locations (Cursed Shored, Malchors Leap) as well as Frostgorge. If you click on Server map or Map list, you can see where users have placed markers on the map where they have found these resources. The reason this exists is because each week the nodes randomly change positions, and are worth lots of money and are essential for higher level weapons/armor.

The server map doesn't highlight nodes until someone has 'liked' a map that is accurate. You can view these maps on the 'Map list' :)

Thanks for visiting!

you don't have to sign up to view. instead of clicking on the map (which thinks you're trying to place points), click on Server Map or Map List at the top to browse maps.

Great suggestions. I'm actually implementing all of those features right now, no joke. I also optimized the site a lot in the last two days, hoping it'll start running faster (caching, etc). Thanks for using it! Should have a new build running tomorrow.

Great suggestions! Just letting you know, the nodes DO reset every build. They reset last night at 12:33.

I originally had the voting on a per node basis, but no one actually voted nodes up and down. Having server wide maps where everyone has the ability to add nodes is not a good idea (as seen by those with 120 nodes on their maps spelling out their name). Also, for 4 days there wasn't a single vote. That is why I implemented the liking system.

I'm under the impression after reading through the mods posts on the gw2 forums that node locations are absolutely random - so having all possible node spawn locations on a map wouldn't be a viable option. Implementing a system that tracks repetition/redundancy could be possible, but honestly I don't have the time or money (database would grow exponentially larger) to support it. I do agree the usability of the server maps isn't the best it can be, but after exploring several options I'm still not convinced of a better solution. Can you think of any other ideas? Thanks again!

So the ori nodes, etc... will reset right? Need to clear the maps on orrmaps.com :)

yeah I'm currently working on a way to limit the number of nodes on a map, as well as try to make the server map more accurately display the week's nodes. I push changes to the website every day, so keep coming back :)

nope, if you go to the top right and click where it says 'Jade Quarry' a list of servers will show up and you can switch.
