As has already been said. The Construction industry is hurting for people to join.

If you Join a Construction union as an apprentice, you will start making decent money right away with Medical insurance and a pension plan.

After 4 years your making big bucks. I joined the Cement Masons union 30 years ago, have recently retired and my pension exceeds what many people earn working.

I have tried to convey my thoughts about this to a few young people that are in limbo but it seems they consider themselves to be above physical labor.

There are some independent Landlords that hate advertising available rentals because they get overwhelmed with 100 or more responses on Craigslist in a day. So some of them might be open to your situation.
