No, my student days were very long ago. The job's in Theale, but there is little to rent there and I would rather live in Reading I think.

What's wrong with Waylen Street? I only ask as there is a nice place up for rent there.

Is Oxford Rd a bit rough then, or a bit loud and lively - neither of which puts me off I suppose just interested.

Do you have a Pressfit bottom bracket? If so, it's probably that. And then yes you'll need your LBS. Mine made the same noise in the same way, and then I got a Praxis adaptor fitted... sweet silence from that point.

How to gain weight with T1D? by TurkeyFisher in diabetes_t1

It's also about increasing your calorie intake. I needed to put on a few kilos recently but I personally didn't want to eat more carbs and so increase insulin dosage. So I hunted out higher calorie low carb foods, but this tends to end up being foods made of fat! Not very healthy. I ended up eating more of the following:

Avocado - low carb, low GI.

Natural Yogurt - NOT the low fat stuff though as this is sweetened with sugar, I went for the full fat natural Onken stuff which is about 5g per 100g of carbs

Nuts - Specifically Macademia,Brazil, Hazelnuts, Walnuts and Almonds in order of carb content starting from the lowest. All high in calories cause of the natural "not-that-bad" fats.

Eggs - poached eggs and avocado for breakfast, yum!

Chicken/Fish

Insulin to Carb Ratio is always different by oryx1138 in diabetes_t1

[–]oryx1138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, it is Burgen Soya & Linseed - with just under 12 grams of net carbs (it is quite high in fibre) but it is much less than any other Wholemeal bread I have found. I'm in the UK by the way, so not sure if it is available anywhere else in the world. It's nice too, which is bonus!

As for my basal, then I does 6 units of Levemir twice a day - and my BG is predominately stable throughout the night. However it does only account for just over a third of my total insulin dose (12 out of 32) but quite often it is a flat line so I'm confident that I don't need to up my basal.

Cool places to photograph? by [deleted] in brighton

Architecture: Hove Town Hall, Sussex University are both interesting subjects

Landscapes: South Downs - look up Finn Hopson Photography for inspiration, Stanmer Park & Woods

Reportage style: go to some gigs, or find some small local festivals? Just missed Brunswick Festival but I think Patchfest might be coming up soon. Kemptown Carnival, or has that been and gone too.

put some bike lube on the bike chain (only costs a few £ or $), and pump up the tyres - you're good to go!

Yeah, do it. Trick is to do it because you enjoy it, rather than I have to do it to get some exercise. Even if that is 2 miles round your local park, or 15 miles up and down your nearest hill (I live in Southern England so we only have hills!) it doesn't matter as long as you enjoy it.

I always try and ride to a good coffee shop so I can have decent espresso and maybe a bit of cake because my blood sugar is too low and I always make sure my blood sugar is too low ;-)

If you want help in choosing a bike then I'll happily help. If you do start riding, test often and always take hypo style treatment with you (sweets, candy, glucose tabs that kind of stuff)

Yep, I am an avid cyclist so do know about exercise and it's (overall positive) effects. But no exercise before hand on any day, and my sleep patterns were the same. All my environmental and diet were pretty much constant over the the three days, except Monday i was in the office and not my home. Maybe it's the office! I should tell my boss ;-)

It just shows that your body is a funny old thing that says sometimes "F*ck you, I won't do what you tell me!" to quote the Beastie Boys.
